DaKidd. DaKidd, at only 17 years old, has released 3 mixtapes and is currently working on his group, Goon Squad's album. DaKidd grew up in Kansas City, MO. He hung around 27th & Van Brunt before moving to the southside. There he hung on 72nd & college. During this time he acquired his love for music. Music is in the family with all of his sibling, except for 2, all being blessed with the talent. DaKidd says "I rap for me, to tell my story." "Music is a way to express my life and contribute to the world." DaKidd has struggled throughout his life with his father dying when he was young, Therefore leaving him to be raised by a single parent. Eventhough his mother tried her best, being the youngest of seven children, he was drawn into the wrong type of crowds. Being the youngest of six brothers whom adapted to the "lyfestyle of an African-American male," he also adapted thinking it was the way life was. Now DaKidd raps about that same lyfestyle, not to be negative but, to expose the truth. At 12 years of age he lost an family member whom was only 13 years old. This member was "Lil Key" whom insprired the title HoodLyfe. In the summer of 2006, He and Goon Squad released HoodLyfe Mixtape Vol.1. Eventhough he is signed to Van Brunt Entertainment, he regulates and pays for his on expenses and other music interest. Trying to avoid the wrong road to his future, DaKidd continued to rap, but this was interrupted when in November of 2006 he lost another member of his family,Deadly D. In January 2007 DaKidd released HoodLyfe Mixtape Vol.2 along with BLC Ceezar & Yung Calico (Deadly Assassins). He is currently working with Goon Squad on their album, Money Rules Tha Nation.(Still Coming!!!). J-Cizzle of Goon Squad also released Mob Shyt Vol.1 with several hit singles and great features. During the summer of 2007, DaKidd lost another member of his family, D-Nutty, whom was killed by the police (KCPD).
