Ten Years on demand moved to Brands and Labels, particularly Levis 501's and fortunately 501 was to be our address. The trend continued to other brands and in late 1989 Jeanmakers became now known as Dakota 501.
As Levis went from strength to strength, it was decided to open the first Levis concept shop in Australia in 1992 at Dakota. Over the next few years other Brands became more important and successful and Levis began to slide, as 501's were no longer as fashionable.
Today Dakota still supports local fashion but our direction focuses on imported denim-wear brands from Europe such as G-star, Carhartt, Firetrap, One True Saxon, Camper, Adidas and Birkenstock.
Dakota remains to this day an independent store, which means we are dedicated to providing the best service and product available.
