I LOVE ALL ART! At the moment, I am very interested in Traveling Art. The mere thought of finding a treasure like a traveling art journal just thrills me! (JOY) There is something very MAGICAL about finding a message in a bottle or a note tied to a helium balloon. This is the MAGIC I hope to pass on through my Traveling Art Projects. Below is a little video talking about the onset of The Traveling Painting and another little stop motion video about sharing the word about the project. Please feel free to share my profile with all your friends.

About me:
TRAVELING ART ~ GENERAL OVERVIEW:
First of all, please let me state that I am not responsible for the idea of traveling art. This idea has been around for many decades. A few of my favorite mail art artists are, Ray Johnson, "The Father of Mail Art" and Jared Knight, the creator of "Paint & Pass". Please do a search on the net to learn more about these two artists.
As far as Traveling Art Journals, I can't take credit for that idea either. Recently, I ran across a site on the net called 1,000journals.com and I wanted to become a part of the project, however I was too late. All the journals had already been claimed.
Traveling art is something that I am very interested in at the moment. I find the mere idea of art traveling, simply amazing.
I launched The Traveling Painting Project in October of 2007 with the high expectations that the canvas would travel to every country in the world. We shall see. So far, six artists have participated in this very young project. Myself, Jared Knight, Lisa T, Rob Lee, Willowing aka Tam and Mary AKA Pyramiaou. As of July 28, 2008, the painting is on it's way to Norway to artist Gary Reef. If you would like to add something to this canvas, please message me.
As I recieve photos from the artists who've participated, I will update the painting's progress. Here's a look at what we have so far:
Who I'd like to meet: THE TRAVELING JOURNALS:
I recently started an art journal and given my interest in traveling art, I had the idea of combining the two. Since I missed out on the www.1,000journals.com art project, I decided to create my own Traveling Art Journal Project.
I was thinking about how cool it would be to sit down at a table in a cafe or on a park bench or a seat on a train or in a movie theater--anywhere really---and find a book that actually asks me to "STEAL it, do art in it and then leave it somewhere for someone else to steal." I was thrilled at the idea and how it would actually feel to open the book and find pages and pages of art created by people from all over the globe. Wonderful! I felt wonderful and full of joy. It's that 'feeling of joy' that I wish to pass on to all other artists who find one of my traveling art journals. I'd like to meet people, artists, musicians, writers who are interested in participating in this project. Please message me if you would like to become involved. I am looking forward to meeting you.
I haven't made any commitments yet as to what happens to the journals once they are completed and returned to me. I've given some thought to a possible art show and then holding a drawing. Each participant would have a chance to win the book in which they helped create. I just don't want to think too far ahead. I don't want to jinx the project. I would like for people to create just for the pure joy of creating. Besides, I've got lots of time to think about the future. This is just the beginning of the project. We shall see.
Below is a slide show of Traveling Journal #1. I will update as I recieve photos of it's progress.
