Writer/filmmaker Dallas Alexis was born in Brooklyn New York; he started his entertainment career at the age of 10. He would often write rhymes and perform them with neighborhood friends anywhere they had a chance to, street corners, the schoolyard and local talent shows. His rap career did not last to long. The rhymes he wrote were so long, he often could not remember everything he wrote down. Realizing his talent for writing, he later began writing short stories. Dallas honed his writing skills in college (Morgan State University), where as a senior, he wrote a script for the TV show “Martin” and “New York Under Cover. Today, Dallas is a published author; his first release is entitled “Back from The Beginning.” The book is currently in circulation and available for purchase. The book is co-authored by long time friend Ali Hines, their second effort “The Last Saturday” hasn’t been given a release date. Dallas is also producing and directing the duo's first feature film, "Gotta Get Mine". The film is currently in post-production and is slated for a 09’ release.
Dallas has worked on both sides of the business TV/Film and the music industry. Dallas has served as a ghostwriter for many music videos you might have seen on BET and MTV. Over the last 3 years, he has written over 25 video treatments and concepts for Rock, Rap and R&B artist. He has directed music videos for several artists on the indie circuit as well. Navigating between TV/Film and the music industry, Dallas has also written, produced and directed his own short films. “Four Years” being the first,” Lucky Fiancé”, “The Sweetest Rejection” and “Aid Test” to follow. All four films are currently making their way through the festival circuit. With music being his first love and TV/Film being his passion, Dallas is also a seasoned industry professional. He has worked on such projects as, Taxi Cab Confessions , The Apprentice seasons 3,4,5,6 & The Celebrity Apprentice, The Dave Chappelle Show, “PS I Love You” (Feature film Starring Hilary Swank), “I Am Legend (Feature film Starring Will Smith). Dallas served as personal liaison to actor Gerry Butler on the movie “PS I Love You”. Gerry can be seen playing the lead role in the box office hit “300” and Guy Ritchie’s “Rock & Roller”. Some of Dallas’s recent work includes, MTV’s “MADE” and FOX’s “The Moment Of Truth”. Depending on the show, his title would vary, doing everything from development, casting, talent and field producing. Dallas is currently writing and developing commercial, documentary, TV/Film and music ideas, which he will be sharing the masses in the near future. Forming a strong industry bond, Dallas landed a deal to produce a string of image campaigns for MTV. “Go Getter” is the first out of the series of promos, it can be currently viewed on MTV and the internet. Dallas is still very much active in the industry and looking to take on new projects.
