From the streets of Dallas, TX, DJ Drop is defying industry expectations and creating a bona fide musical and cultural movement. DJ Drop first began in the music industry back in late 90’s where he DJ'd at houseparties and blockparties in Dallas,Texas. By 2002 his DJ'ing ventures enabled him to DJ at some of the more popular clubs in Dallas. In a relatively short time, DJ Drop rose through the ranks of the Texas DJ world. In 2006, Drop stared his own coalition of djs, Definition DJs, whom are responsible for breaking many local and national artist in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. He was named "Best Street DJ" by Dirty South Awards two years in a row (2005 and 2006). He has been featured in the Scratch Magazine, Ozone Magazine, Rolling Out, The ComeUp, and Urban South. Drop's mixtapes became so talked about that major artist seeked to appear on his mixtapes. Trae The Truth, Big Tuck, Tum Tum, Boyz-n-da-Hood, Rich Boy, Ray Cash, Ying Yang Twins, Killer Mike, and Nitro have all collaborated on DJ Drop’s Mixtape CD's. Not to mention over 75 artists from the Dallas/Ft. Worth area has had their share of exposure by way of collaborations on a DJ Drop mixtape. DJ Drop’s nickname is branded in the streets as “The Mixtape Heavyweight”. “I don’t just play exclusives - I collab with the artist to make them.” When asked what makes his mixtape’s different from other DJ’s. “I continue to up the bar when it comes to the mixtape game.” He enjoys a challenge and bringing something different and original to the music industry by way of mixtape.
