THE BRAND NEW AND COOL MOTORBIKE DALLAS FRASCA T SHIRTS ARE AVAILABLE IN ALL MEN / WOMANS SIZES.
Dallas Frasca isn't taking any prisoners
with this first single off her forthcoming
debut album. It's as down and dirty a slab
of roots as anything the boys could deliver,
being all slithery slide, pounding rhythms
and snarling vocals. The B-side 'remix'
strips things only slightly to showcase the
pounding kit work and some of the subtler
bits of guitar filigree. On the evidence
of Burnt Toast, the album should be awesome.
- Drum Media - Sydney - NOV 2008
"The acclaimed Dallas Frasca isn't only the leading lady on Australia's male-dominated roots scene, she also possesses a voice as powerful and soulful as the great Janis Joplin."
- Time Off Magazine
Dallas Frasca is one of Australia's greatest and most obscure singers"...
- Dolly Dagger (The Dwarf)
"These aren't your everyday, run-of-the-mill cranking slide grooves and stomping, rolling rhythms, they're heavy and raw like nothing else on earth."
- Sam Fell - (Inpress Magazine, Rhythms Magazine)
"You'd Be A Fool Not To Be Impressed" - Single Of The Week
- Simone (Beat Magazine)
"The modern day Janis Joplin"
- Triple J
"In an industry that is fraught with commercialism, an emergence of real talent is a breath of fresh air."
- Eva Roberts (Australian Musician Mag)
"The bad girl of roots music"
- SKUFF TV
"Her voice passes through you like the ghost of Janis, filling up the room, and inspiring adulation usually reserved for much more established artists."
- Susan Munro (Faster Louder) May 2008 DEEP ROOTS FESTIVAL, ESPY
Frasca's remarkable voice has been described as being "like diving off a rock into a pristine gorge with the worst hangover of your life, and emerging from the cool depths rejuvenated." Maybe it comes from down the line of a blood relative of hers, Opera Singer, DAME NELLIE MELBA (who appears on the AUS $100 note), whatever the origin, her distinctive, gutsy, heart-felt vocal style is of uncommon strength and chunky guitar grooves have been wowing crowds all over Australia on the tour circuit and radio waves. With a wail as big as her dread-locked hair, she is a force for the future: she is woman, hear her roar.
Dallas started singing at age 19, nailing her debut solo EP “Acoustic Slide Groove” in 2005 which lead to her stitching up Triple J's 'Light Your Fuse' competition from over 500 entries. At the time she had no idea her music would cause the stir it has. From there, two of her songs hit top position on MP3.com, she was recently invited to front members of legendary rockers, Midnight Oil & the Violent Femmes , she supported Xavier Rudd on his national tour, played numerous major festivals in Australia including (East Coast Blues & Roots, Falls Fest, Apollo Bay, A Day On The Green, Narooma Blues & Rockabilly Fest, Southbound, Pyramid Rock Fest & Point Nepean Fest alongside artists like Joss Stone, Xavier Rudd, Ben Harper, John Butler & many more).
Dallas Frasca has an undeniable stage presence. Her powerful and commanding vocal style is one of a kind; raw, gritty and unrestrained, this woman is a force to be reckoned with. Joined by the upside down, left handed, back to front, slide dobro and mandolin extraordinaire, Jeff Curran makes the two piece without kit a wall of guitars and stomp box that delve into raw, double duelling slides, launching from a rock solid ground of roots influences. One thump on that stomp box demands attention from any audience and is a sure-fire way to get the crowd worked up... Dallas Frasca is an impressive live experience you don’t want to miss!

We have had an exceptional response through myspace from some of the most talented underground musicians in the world . It is your contribution to our show that show people that there are still actually real musicians out there [and rap is surely not damn music, neither is that techno crap].
Undergroundsounds airs throughout Australia Thursday/Saturdays p.m.
Bands that would like their music aired on any future shows can forward their material to the address below;
