This undertaking, as with most creative endeavors, was a labor of love, and I think you can hear the influences of my favorites growing up, such as Carole King, Elton John, Stevie Wonder, Emy Lou, Linda Rondstadt, and Bonnie Raitt. But aren't we all influenced by the world around us?

I'll let somebody else do the talking here. This is from a Keyboard Magazine review of Leap of Faith.
With her debut recording, Dallis Craft has crafted a powerful showcase for her blues, pop, gospel, bluegrass, and rootsy compositions, her excellent piano playing, and her beautiful, multi-hued voice. Dallis’ voice is reminiscent of Bonnie Raitt on the bluesy “Faith is Believin,” calls to mind Judy Collins on the tender but commanding ballad “When I Talk to You,” and is Sheryl Crow-like on the pop-oriented “Twistin in the Wind.” Produced by Bruce Kaphan (American Music Club, David Byrne, Jewel),…believe me, this is one Leap of Faith you won’t be sorry you made. I released my CD Leap of Faith in 2001. This debut effort features original rock, pop, and country flavors played by the Bay Area music scene's finest, and I've been proud to call them my friends.

On a different note, I obtained my teaching credential in 2006, and I am now enjoying my third year teaching seventh-grade English at Carquinez Middle School in Crockett, California. I am also directing choir at CMS and at John Swett High School, also in Crockett.
Jon to Dallis: Howdy from Times Sq. NYC Dallis, thanks for the Add-On..sounding real good there in good ol' Novato, right on! I used to be around there a lot when I was on the DTI Records label. Also Crockett CA, when I returned from living in Europe for 6 years, I had semi-steady gig at Club Tac by C&H Sugar, we kept it up for a while with my B3 organ but the Crockett-heads were not as supportive as my European audiences. I'm on the radio every morning by you on 1550 AM, today I have Stephen Ferrone on, HammondCast Show 4AM-4.45 keep up the good work Dallis, c ya', Jon *Member AFM Local 802, Local 6 / ASCAP Publisher http://ascap. com/network/audioportraits/Jon_Hammond_Rent/ "TRIBUTE to Victims of 9/11" JON HAMMOND Band in JAZZKELLER Frankfurt: .. How'd your CSET go? Great scores? Are you enjoying your time off? AmeriCorps and I finish our realtionship on July 3rd. Yay! You and I need to get together and have some din-din, some wine and some great conversation. Look at your calendar, sister, cause I'll be calling. One of the sweetest voices I've ever heard..and perhaps the truest professional it was ever my pleasure to meet in this goofy business. Peace and Love to You and Brent! Dave Younger
Where did you go? How are you doing? I miss you so. My Bee is graduating this June, She's headed off to NYU to study Theatre. How did that happen? I recorded Derek on my song Wretched Hotel, he does it so much better. I wanna play with you again. So much love.
How have your holidays been?? Miss you! Let's get together in 2008. CalServes/Americorp is kicking my BUTT! Yikes. It is HARD! I'm half way through. Love my co-workers, love the kids. The rest of it, though? Hmmmmmm. Dunno. Is life being good to you? How's that amazing kid of yours? Doing any music? Love you. A big hug from, LL
Mom...I'm so incredibly psyched about work today. I hope Doug doesn't show up to work today, his dad is so much more pleasant and mature than he is. I actually posted a blog about him on my page. It's entitled, "My Boss" - inspired by his inability to understand that life does in fact exist outside of the club. Yesterday my friend and I were talking and after our conversation switched to music, I went on the computer and showed her your page and she said that even though she doesn't even really like this kind of music (in particular), you have an "amazing voice" and she is envious of your ability to write such deep lyrics and "blend it so skillfully into the music" so that it sounds like "genius". I agree with her. Doug sucks. I ♥ you.
Dally, That is one of the nicest things any one of my friends has said to me in a long time. Thank you. Thank you for making me feel appreciated. The feelings are MORE than mutual. I "heart" you very much.
P.S. Tell Tunces and Ernie to "suck it up" and let me pet them. Grin.
