OUR FIRST REVIEW...BY DR.PETE
(4th show ever at THE KENNEL CLUB(03/06/09
Let’s just say last night was a great night for music. I was out at the Kennel Club to see a few bands, namely Silent Treatment (whom I have seen numerous times and keep getting better) and Damaged – a band I had never seen.
The crowd was big and drinks were definitely poured in excess, as I said it was a great night for music. There was a bountiful supply of great looking ladies bouncing around the club…and as the night went on and imbibing continued, the bouncing increased. Ok…back to the music.
Damaged took the stage last and from the beginning established their presence, engaged the crowd and came at you with a wall of sound and melody. I especially was impressed with the way they kicked the show off with a little showmanship and creativity – making a larger than life impression in a small venue. Damaged made you feel like you were seeing at Arco Arena and they were playing to a crowd of 18,000. That approach will translate well as their audience and popularity continue to grow.
Damaged has a good, melodic metal sound that in my humble opinion isn’t too far removed from hard rock – it’s like Soundgarden or even Audioslave on half a line of coke. The band’s musicianship is extremely solid and songs are surprisingly tight for the short period of time they have been together. As the crowd validated…Damaged was well worth the wait.
You can check out Damaged at one of any number of upcoming shows in the Sacramento area.
Definitely hit them up at www. myspace. com/Damaged2008.
One thing they don’t have yet is an album, but judging by where they are now and their already polished live show, that isn’t too far off in the future. Well at least this aspiring physician is hoping for a Damaged album soon.

£leTriKa sounds completely different from any Metal band you have ever heard. The Brazilian rhythms and the Portuguese language added to the songs makes its style unique, giving birth to a new kind of Metal. If you are really looking for something new about Metal, you should check £leTriKa out!
