FLORIDA'S VERY OWN DAME EDNA ATTENTION FRIENDS: I am never on My Space any more. I hate the spam and the setup. I will be deleting this account this week. I am on FACEBOOK, so please, if yo Posted at 3:40 AM Nov 17 view more
About me: I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V4.4 (www.strikefile.com/myspace)
Hello, Possums!
I'm NOT the REAL Dame Edna, just a VERY good CELEBRITY IMPERSONATOR. AGAIN! As as DISCLAIMER, I AM NOT BARRY HUMPHRIES! I adore him and have immense respect for his talent, his work and the BRILLIANT world he's created for Dame Edna. When I discovered I could recreate a reasonable facsimile of Dame Edna, I began this incredible acting challenge and took up the Gladioli and the Wisteria hair and I do my best to honor and respect Mr. Humphries' character. I am flattered when people mistake me for Edna, but I am not trying to pass myself off as the real thing. I am a tribute artist who uses this My Space page as a networking tool to let my local friends know where I'll be appearing.
I WILL IMMEDIATELY ADD LEGITIMATE IMPERSONATORS AND ATTENDEES FROM MY WEEKLY SHOWS.
I am always looking to add local friends, fans and contacts, so if you are OUTSIDE the Orlando Metro area, PLEASE do send me a message along with your friend request, so that I can decide whether or not to approve you.
AGAIN, IF YOU ARE FROM OUTSIDE THE ORLANDO, FLORIDA AREA, SEND ME A MESSAGE ALONG WITH THE FRIEND REQUEST! IF I DON'T KNOW YOU, CHANCES ARE, I'LL DENY THE REQUEST!!!!!
Also, if your page has SO much to load that even a broadband connection takes forever, I will probably deny your request.
In addition to appearing all over the US and Canada for corporate events and private parties, I also host(in character)several of the most popular and successful Karaoke shows in Central Florida - Savoy Orlando, PULSE and at Hamburger Mary's Bar and Grille. (Just imagine Dame Edna as a Karaoke Host... She makes Simon Cowell look like a complete ANGEL!)
Just as Dame Edna's manager/alter ego Barry Humphries did so well in the film, I was one of the originators of the role of Bruce the Shark in Disney's new show: Finding Nemo: The Musical. It was a once in a lifetime experience, but I recently left WDW in order to persue legitimate theatrical credits. I discovered that one can only haul around a 20 lb shark puppet, dance, sing, scream and yell for so long before that loses it's charm (and you lose your voice.)
If you don't know the actor behind the wisteria-colored hair and glitter glasses, take a look at my friends list, you might just find him there. For those of you who are all too familiar with the actor behind the Dame, then welcome.
Take the quiz: What Musical Are You? Hairspray You're Hairspray! You love to dance, and don't listen to other's opinions of you. You don't care what other's think as long as you're happy with yourself. You also look incredibly good when playing plus-sized mothers!
Who I'd like to meet: Myself. I'm incredibly interesting. Actually, Nathan Lane, Mel Brooks, Barry Humphries and Harvey Fierstein are four of my theatrical heroes. A luncheon with them would be divine - or insane.
After seeing the following video - I want to Meet Kristin Chenoweth. No. Drug addiction is nothing to laugh about.. but DAMN this is funny!
