SUMMER SOLO AND HUMSTRUM GIGS! A return for me to the wonderfully eclectic Big Untidy nights out, but this time I’m bringing along Marco who plays with me in Humstrum. Marco is from the german band OffLimits and plays didg, whistles and flute and sings. You may have seen him with me at the 50th birthday bash in Reading last year. We’re doing a good long set and there’s lots of other treats, like the wonderful Darrel Mitchell and his band. Spread the word. .
A rare performance for me at an English folk festival, but I am really looking forward to playing and it’s great to be asked as this will be a great bill of performers for the evening. More details when I know them...
SOLO CD... Well, amazingly enough Folk Roots have published a very positive review for Damian's solo CD, THE RIVER WHEREVER. ..."Sparkling programme of refreshing' wandering-minstrel' takes on trad songs (English, Breton, Plat Deutsch - all sung in the original language), interspersed with tunes. Accompanying himself on hurdy-gurdy or hammer dulcimer, with support from Marco (Lack Of Limits) and Pressgang colleagues, Damian's come up with an inspiring and enjoyable collection." Likewise four stars in Rock n Reel magazine and radio play in Germany and the US..and even in the UK. Thanks to everyone who has supported me in my new direction. You can buy the CD from us directly, using Paypal or cheques for 7 pounds. Email pressgang@voxpop.demon.co.uk for more details.
AND FROM FOLKER The biggest folk magazine in Germany has also spoken warmly about the CD, calling it a "charming musical miracle-bag"...and its getting played on Northern German radios. Can't wait to go back and play there again
CDs by PaypalYou can also buy CDs directly from us now using Paypal. Send us a message for details. The Fire CD has been re-pressed.
Damian Clarke and Humstrum's Friend Space (Top 12)
Many thanks again for all your support last night Damian - another fantastic performance, of course! Sorry Noddy took you so literally about the CD's - but he did manage to raise £55 from selling them last night and still has 4 more to sell today! Will be back in touch about the possibility of a PressGang gig in Weymouth as part of the album launch.... Hope to see you again real soon, Best wishes, Stewart & Carol
Damian will be appearing together with Finnian McGurk at a charity fundraiser for the Weldmar Hospice Trust and Rosetta Life at The Prince Of Wales, Park Street, Weymouth, this Saturday 18th July – please come along, I think you’ll be impressed! http://www.myspace.com/finnian7

Friday April 10th “another of the very wonderful BIG UNTIDY NIGHTS OUT” at the Rising Sun Arts Centre, Silver Street, Reading.
HUMSTRUM, otherwise known as Damian Clarke and Marco Neumann from German band OffLimits, only the second time they have performed in the UK and a rare opportunity to catch one of their highly unusual acoustic shows showcasing a mix of traditional and self-written songs and instrumentals and you can even dance and sing along.
Main support on the night will be Darrell Mitchell and The Occasional Orchestra, previewing tracks from their forthcoming mini album “Japeeza!” Readings very own Paula Curtis, Nick Shorey and Occasionally David, perhaps best known for their complete remake of Forever Changes.
