Bio
.......... .. ...... .. .. .. .... Born and raised in a small town somewhere between Manchester and Liverpool, England, Damian's early musical influences came via his fathers love of 'The Beatles' and 'Beach Boys'. A classically trained pianist from the age of 5, he worked his way up through the grades of the 'London College of Music' before the birth of punk rock changed his whole musical perspective and he picked up 'the guitar'. Years of educational rebellion ensued during which time Damian began to pen and perform his own compositions. He left school aged 15 and after a couple of years of dead end jobs decided on a big move. Feeling musically and mentally restricted, eager for adventure and to broaden his mind, he bought a one-way bus ticket....to Spain. Armed with his guitar, harmonica and 30 english pounds ($50), he stationed himself on the beaches of the 'Costa Brava', just north of Barcelona and entertained the worlds tourists. Seven days a week for the seven months of the european summer season Damian played a mixture of originals and covers, from Elvis to Radiohead, in the clubs, bars and campsites. In the winters he toured the world, performing in Australia, South Africa, Indonesia, all over Europe and in the ski resorts of Andorra. Ten years of Spain and musical travels culminated in the writing and recording of Damian's first CD...The story of his adventures and life experiences, so far, was entitled 'No Fixed Abode' ..critically acclaimed upon its release and voted in the 'Top 5 Albums of the Year' by London music magazine 'Venue' the record eventually reached America. On hearing it, former Motown president Ewart Abner contacted Damian. Abner had previously discovered and managed the likes of 'Stevie Wonder' and 'Coolio'. His friend EMI Chairman Marty Bandier was an instant fan and together they offered Damian the chance to come 'stateside'. The untimely death of Abner upon Damian's arrival in Los Angeles meant that his deal with EMI didn't quite materialise in the way all had originally intended but Damian knew this was the place for his music to flourish. Several fruitful years on have included multiple stints in Las Vegas with his band, various film scores and credits including the title track 'Bitter & Twisted' to a Warner Bros movie and live performances at LA's famed venues 'House of Blues', 'Whisky-a-go-go' etc... enhancing Damian's reputation as a live performer. His much anticipated new CD 'The Wilderness' is available NOW! -
