Introductory Deal for Myspace Artists
Damien Gerard Sound Studio introductory deal for Myspace artists.
Recognising the wealth of undiscovered talent on myspace, DGSS has decided to launch the intro package to help these acts get to the next level.
Each month we will choose 2 artists from our submissions to participate in the deal, they will receive:
*6 hours free pre-production time
*A full 10 hr day of recording and mixing with one of our professional engineers for only $500 (usual book rate is $700), 10 cdr's, of which one will be submitted to Foghorn's A&R department for appraisal.
*PR sent out to media
A typical session would go something like this:
Day 1 5pm - 11pm set up, pre-production, work on sounds
Day 2 1030am - 1030pm Full 10 hr lock out for tracking, overdubbing and mixing.
At the end of the session 10 cdr's are run off and 1 is submitted to Foghorn for appraisal. You'll also receive professional PR sent out to street press, online, print, industry etc by our media department which can include jpegs and gig dates as well.
Submissions
To be considered for this deal, all you have to do is send an email to info(at)damiengerard(dot)net with "submission for DGSS intro deal" in the subject line. Be sure to include all your contact details and a link to your myspace band page in the text. We will check out your songs and place you in the running to be picked. We'll notify you that we've receieved your submission & if you're picked we'll be in contact with you within 30 days.
*If you are chosen you will need to confirm your booking (we will give you a range of studio dates) by email and will need a deposit within 7 days or you will forfeit the opportunity.

Stella's Kitchen
For a new unsigned band, being on the 2008 Grow Your Own Upload 2 Compilation CD provided the spark to leverage attention locally and nationally. As a launching platform, Stellas Kitchen used the CD to open doors within the industry appearing on local TV, 96fm radio and over 70 performances - which included motor shows, charity events and interstate gigs. it's very exciting. i feel very lucky to be surrounded by good people right now yourselves included. it's been a wonderful experience and sometimes it can be a long time between wonderful experiences so it's nice to soak them up.

Peat moved to sydney in early 2006 to study audio, and currently still is. He has a keen passion for audio engineering. He assists on recording sessions, as well as conducting a few of his own.
On the equipment front the big news this month is DG's has upgraded to HD Pro Tools, the rig is available in either of the two studios and is running Apogee front end and a Mac Quad Core.
Maxine Kauter -Her EP of last year scored a deal with Rough Cut Music and now the second release is being tracked with Producer/Engineer Dave Learn and Pete Holz forming the the same winning team that worked on the debut.
Daxton - The Central Coast country blues singer/guitarist new song Desert Crow just finished by Dax and Russell will be featured on the Home Grown Roots Vol 4 CD this year after his last years song was placed in an Episode of Josh Weedon's(Buffy, Firefly) latest Hollywood TV smash- Dollhouse.
Love Child - Another central coast outfit the guys came by to mix the singles from their upcoming release with Russell.
Scout TV- Jaimie Carter and the team from Scout have adopted DG's main live room as their shooting space and will be in each month to film every new episode - numbers one and two are already done and online..
The Charles Manson Experiment- Ex Grow Your Owners make a welcome return to the studio this month mixing their next EP with Andrew Beck
Beyond Repent - Young Sydney band have chosen DG';s Demo Deal (2 days + budget mastering) for their first ever recording experience and will be looked after by Russell Pilling - theyy plan to use the finished tracks for myspace, live show bookings and giveaways.
