Formed in late 2004 , DAMIJ started out just jamming cover songs and playing small parties. The band played their first show in Feb 2005 at benefit for "Joe Anthony Gonzalez" former Blackthorn and Kill Sister Kill vocalist and fellow band member & close friend of Danny and Gordon. The benefit was a success and soon after the band slowed down and a few member changes later picked up again continuing as a 4 piece with Adam(Vocals),Mark M. (drums), Mark R.(bass) & Danny (Guitars). Original songwriting came into the fold and the band was able to pull off a few more parties and shows. The band soon Opened for several name acts such as James Rivera , Riot, Vicious Rumors, And Broken Teeth.
The bands first original "Voices Within" was met with great response and soon after "Devils whiskey" was unleashed as well. The 3rd original then came to be "Hell inside his mind".
After a few more shows Danny then asked Gordon to join the band as the final missing piece and enhance the overall sound of the band. The 5 piece fell together instantly and soon began work on a 3 song demo in mid summer 2007.
DAMIJ also had the pleasure of performing at the TEXAS METAL HEALTH at Sams Burger joint in August 2007.
After a few lineup changes the band has restructured and found itself as a 4 piece again with new bassist OZZY alejo. The band now is looking forward to booking a few statewide shows and hitting the TEXAS music scene for 2009.
Keep your eyes out and watch for them soon to playing in a city by you.
