Currently John Daminato is in the studio full time, finalizing his debut album signed to EsNtion records—an independent record label founded in Chicago and distributed by 3MD/Ryko(WEA). The album will contain original production and vocals by Daminato and Chicago guest vocalists Jenny Maas and Janelle Gilbert.
Daminato's productions can be summed up as a pressure chamber of low-end frequencies on one end of the spectrum, all the way to commercially viable pop songs on the other. Although naturally Daminato tends to produce genres that start with the word "tech" or "House," his mind is far too pried-open to be pigeon-holed by any one defining brand.
His influences are vast and include icons like the Beatles and Janice Joplin, distorted guitar legends like Iron Maiden and King Diamond, and various hip-hop icons from the 90s that could fill his sub-bass addiction.
Daminato is also cofounder of the production team "Desperate House DJ's," which is currently in the studio working on the follow-up release to "Back to Brooklyn."
He is the CEO of Itch-n-Sniff records with A&R/designer/international DJ Booming B from Germany. Itch-n-Sniff records is geared up for its fifth release mid-2009. Itch-n-Sniff records is a "feel good, have fun" house music label focusing on the more funky, humorous side of the genre.
Daminato's DJing, productions, and remixes have led him to various stateside bookings, including Miami's Winter Music Conference, and to overseas spots in Germany and Belgium—and, of course, to many local Chicago clubs like Smart Bar, Zentra, Vision, etc...
