I made my way home dodging little bits of burning debris falling here and there. Occasionally you will think you see something you recognize a face, a sign , an old road or building. Every thing was easier when the world was still dumb to those around it. But in the end its all in your head because some bridges just can't be re-built. We gave up religion for technology and the acute sensation of sex. which confuses many people more than God ever did any how.
Turning around a blind corner haphazardly I realize you can never gain something without first having lost. A mother must endure the pain for the child. And ultimately the child shall give up the parent for pain. To put it another way. One day we are dodging flaming debris. The Next we are tilling a garden trying to keep the weeds back.
Or once again. Life is a fickle pickle.
Ever since we discovered the pod people living beneath the surface of the moon life has never been the same. There's the slave camps, the incubation chambers, and head vice's, and then there is the not so pleasant stuff. One can start to not notice these things quicker than you would think. What would have been alien six months ago is now as ordinary as a door knob.
