bands that I love and the geniuses who have influenced me over the years:
Adam and the Ants, Bryan Ferry, Compuwhore, David Bowie, Dead Can Dance, Depeche Mode, Devo, Duran Duran, Eurythmics, Front Line Assembly, Hate Dept, Kate Bush, Kevorkian Death Cycle, Oingo Boingo, Roxymusic, Sergeant Sawtooth, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Skinny Puppy, Talk Talk, Thomas Dolby
I am a musical enthusiast, a self indulgent photographer, an obsessive choreographer, and an overly manic costume designer with a wide-eyed appreciation for all things frightening, funny, and deliciously unique.
about my music...
I use Logic Pro.
In addition to my current electronic musical endeavors, I am also composing all of the music for "The Visceral Show", a gothic cabaret that I will be staging in the spring of 2010. Featuring an original score of deliciously deranged songs sung by a cast of despicable misfits. There will be plenty of laughs, fabulous dancing, and gorgeous costumes! To learn more about the show, listen to some of the official "Visceral" tunes, and see pics of the production in progress simply visit www.myspace.com/thevisceralshow.
In the late 90s I worked primarily on composing music for dance for both live performance and video art. You can find samples of my work on YouTube. Click on the video below to watch "Dolly", a video segment from the live performance of "Damsels in the Decadent Dollhouse".
about my choreography...
I have been dancing since age eleven, spending my early years studying jazz and ballet, then focusing on modern dance during college and beyond. My modern dance repertoire consists of thirty choreographed pieces which have been performed throughout New Jersey, New York, and Vermont. In 1998, I earned my BA in Choreography and Video from Bennington College, in Bennington, VT. From 2003 to 2007, I took a break from the modern dance world to focus on musical theater for which I created ten live evening-length themed shows for the Lipstick Lovelies Cabaret and expanded my repertoire of an estimated one hundred choreographed musical numbers. I was also director, producer, writer, photographer, and costume designer for the show. The Lipstick Lovelies Cabaret is no longer performing, but you can get a taste of nostalgia at Lipstick Lovelies Show Portfolio.
Click on the video below to watch the live modern dance performance of "Blisterwood".
I have been designing and making costumes since my late teens. Throughout the years, my designs have been primarily for my own choreographed dances and performance art.
Below is a slideshow of some of my costumes designed for the stage. Most were created for the Lipstick Lovelies Cabaret (please note that the Lipstick Lovelies are officially R.I.P.). My costumes also appeared on the dead dolls of the Corpse Cabaret in October 2007.
Drop me a line if you are interested in purchasing any of the costumes in the above slideshow! Stay tuned for many new costume designs currently in the works for The Visceral Show!
about my photography...
I love to experiment with different concepts, costumes, and lighting sources and then play-play-play in Photoshop. I am also a fixture around town at many of Bozeman's dance and theatre performances. You can view many of my photos on this profile by clicking on the PICS link. Some of my dance photography has also been featured at Main Street Dance Theatre's website at Main Street Dance Theatre.
Be sure to check out the work of my heroes..Silent-View Photography, Eugenio Recuenco, Walter Wick, 666 Photography, Lilya Corneli, Steve Diet Goedde, Bruno Dayan, Darla Teagarden, Harmony Nicholas (Dalai Harma), and Viona-Art.
