Update the info on this page, and update all the new Photos of Dan and what-not! :) I used to post on Dan-Radcliffe.net, however, life got in the way of posting regularly, so now this page is my priority.. I have been with DR.net for about a year or so... I, myself, have met Dan on two occasions :) Both were fantastic! I really enjoy supporting this amazing, talented, GORGEOUS guy! ...Also, If anyone would like to contact me directly, as I am always willing to make new friends... Daniel Radcliffe is now 19 years old and has worked his way into the acting career with outstanding ease! Becoming widely known as one of the most charming, down-to-earth young actors of today!
Daniel has recently become publicly obsessed with Cricket! For his 18th birthday he spent five days at Lords Cricket grounds in London, watching England play India! Whilst meeting and signing for some eager fans :) Even putting off reading the 7th Harry Potter book until he could focus on it!
Daniel is also an avid fan of reading and writing! His poetry is already very talked about, and us fans have never been lucky enough to witness it! Dan seems eager to continue writing and hopefully we'll see some of his work in the future!
Dan is taking on many interesting and versatile roles , that challenge him and expand his existence to those outside of the Harry Potter fandom.
He has always had a passion for acting, and is definitely becoming known amongst some of the best actors out there!
Daniel first became interested in acting as an escape from his school life. He was not very happy at school, as he didn't seem to fit in, and wasn't particularly academic, nor athletic.
His mother's friend informed Daniel that they were holding auditions for Oliver Twist and Daniel begged his parents to let him go. They refused however, fearing that if Daniel were to be rejected it would break his heart. Finally though, they relented when auditions for the BBC's David Copperfield came up. And out of Thousands of Little boys, Daniel was chosen!
So Before Daniel became famous with his fantastic portrayal of the boy wizard, Harry Potter. He starred in the BBC adaptation of Charles Dicken's, David Copperfield, in 1999. Playing the young David. He starred alongside such acting legends as :
Ian McKellen
Maggie Smith
Bob Hoskins
and Imelda Staunton!
Following his amazingly well rounded performance in David Copperfield, Daniel was cast as the Son of Geoffrey Rush's character, in The Tailor Of Panama. Although his part was small, he still brought an energetic spark to the character. This Film included big names as well; Including Jamie Lee Curtis (As his mother) Pierce Brosnan and Brenden Gleeson.
Throughout the Harry Potter series, Daniel has always managed to distance himself steadily from the films, by doing little side-projects in-between filming.
In 2002 he made a guest appearance in Foley and McColls tribute to Morecambe and Wise, in the play 'The play what I wrote', directed by Kenneth Brannagh. This was Daniel's West-end debut.
In 2005 Daniel starred in Foley and McColl's 'This way up'. It was a comedy sketch show in which Daniel played another version of himself, that being a traffic warden in London. Daniel has always had a fantastic sense of humour, and shined in his short performance within this show.
Late 2005, between the filming of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, and the Order of the Phoenix, Daniel went out to Australia to film, 'December Boys'. There was much speculation about where Daniel was on 'kangaroo Island' when he first arrived and extra security measures were put up around Daniel whilst filming his scenes! He was in Australia for around 6 weeks, and spent his Christmas there, in his family home in Melbourne.
In 2006, obviously sensing how popular Daniel was becoming, and what good comic timing he has, Ricky Gervais then approached Dan, to star in his hit series 'Extras'. Daniel, always up for anything different, accepted. And in episode three of the second series, he plays himself as some twisted, arrogant 'ladies-man'. The total opposite to how Daniel is as a person. He worked with Warwick Davies and Dame Diana Rigg in this particular episode.
Starring in 'Extras' certainly got Daniel's name in the headline's again, and before long, news stretched across the globe, that Daniel was to be starring in a west-end adaptation of the play 'Equus'. It's controversial content and it's disturbing reputation automatically got people talking, and by the time a racy new photoshoot of Daniel and his co-star was released, it was all anyone could talk about!
The decision to be the star of this show was a difficult one. Daniel had his reputation on the line, not only for his devoted Harry Potter fans, but also for solid theatregoers, who would demand a lot of his performance. If Daniel couldn't pull it off, and he even admitted himself, that he wasn't sure he could. It would mean a very big bump in his road to pure stardom.
Thankfully, Daniel exceeded himself, and won rave reviews all round for his performance as Alan Strang. A 5-Star review from the Sunday times, was proudly displayed above the intense image of Daniel's torso, merged with a horses head, on the front of the Gielgud Theatre.
Last Year, the 5th installment of the Harry Potter series, The Order of the Phoenix, hit the cinemas. And took nearly one billion Dollars worldwide! Warner Brothers released a statement soon after its release that Harry Potter was now THE most successful franchise in movie history! Beating out Star wars and all 22 James Bond films! All 5 of the films have raked in just over 4 Billion Dollars worldwide, and with two more films to go...The Franchise is set to make new records!
In 2007 Daniel also filmed the new ITV Drama 'My Boy Jack'. Dan took on the challenging role with co-stars David Haig and Kim Catrall. Filming rounded up at the end of August and the drama aired on British television on November 11th, AKA; Rememberence day! It recieved great reviews and is now available to buy on DVD from Amazon, Play.com and all good high street stores!
Dan won the National Movie Award for best Male performance recently! He was up against the likes of Johnny Depp and Daniel Craig! We are all very proud of him for that achievement ... Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix also won the award for Best film !
Filming for Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince is now well underway, with just a few months left. There have been a few location shoots, including the small historical village of Lacock, in Wiltshire, where scenes involving Harry, Dumbledore and Slughorn were filmed in the middle of the night... Surbiton Train station, just outside of London...Where scenes involving Dumbledore and Harry were filmed... Scenes using the hallways and cloisters of Gloucester Cathedral with many local extras for Hogwarts...And a Scene in Farnham , Surrey that involved Dan and Helena Bonham Carter in some woodland...
Daniel is reprising the role of Alan Strang in Broadway this year. The Play opens on September 25th (or there abouts) and will run until early February. He is joined with Richard Griffiths as Dysart, and Thea Sharrock as the Director.. Hope everything goes as planned!
In February Dan was invited along to 2008's BAFTA awards in London to present an award for Contribution to British Film. Harry Potter was nominated in one category, but it did not win... Daniel Day-Lewis mentioned Dan in his acceptance speech saying ''When my boys see me in a photo with Daniel Radcliffe, they may start to take this more seriously''
Also in February, Dan was nominated for 'Best London Newcomer' for his perfomance in Equus at the recent Whatsonstage TheatreGoers awards and he, quite rightly so, won! Equus was also nominated for, and won, Best Play Revival... And Dan's Nude publicity shots for Equus won the 'Theatre event of the year' ! Ooh la la !
The awards were presented on February 24th in London, and Daniel got a surprise snog by the Male presenter when he collected his 'Newcomer award'... What can we say, Dan is irresistable :)
In response to people hounding Dan and The presenter with their views on the ''sexual assault that took place'' *Yawns* ...Dan released a statement through his Rep saying that he took it in the light-hearted sense in which it was made.
DAN IS NOT RECIEVING DEATH THREATS !!! Do Not worry!!!

Equus

Equus is a play written by Peter Shaffer. It made it's west-end debut over 30 years ago, causing much controversy! It has since been awaiting the right boy to play Alan, for it's come-back...And found the perfect person in Dan!
Alan Strang (Daniel Radcliffe) is a young 17 year old who works in the stables near his home.
One night, he blinds six horses with a metal hoof pick, causing shock and confusion by all who know him. He is placed under psychiatric surveillance, rather than sent to prison, too seek emotional and mental help, and studied by psychiatrist Martin Dysart (Richard Griffiths), who slowly, but surely unfolds the puzzle behind the boys actions, learning things about himself along the way. This play makes you question your own beliefs and values and is truly magnificent!
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

Fighting to get the truth across to an unaccepting wizarding world, Harry has a difficult year at Hogwarts. New characters are introduced, new adventures take place...But how much will have to be sacrificed for the truth to finally be revealed ?
December Boys

December Boys is based on a novel by Michael Noonan.
The film focuses on Four orphans, Maps (Daniel Radcliffe), Sparks, Misty and Spit, who live in the Australian outback in the late 1960's. The boys are sent on a seaside holiday in the summer, and rumours begin that a couple are looking to adopt a child.
This story is about the battle for acceptance between the boys, this may be their last chance at finding a family. Competition arises as they all seek what they think they want more than anything... A heart-felt family tale about love and loyalty!
My Boy Jack

This ITV Drama is based on a True story by the much acclaimed writer, Rudyard Kipling.

This new film is to show the true-life of Dan Eldon. Who, at just 22 years old was stoned to death in Somalia in 1993. He was working as a photojournalist, and after an attack Eldon and his colleagues rushed to the site. Survivors of the devastating attack pulled shredded bodies from the rubble. Seconds later, the mob's grief gave way to rage; Eldon had no choice but to run for his life. And proceeded to be beaten to death with three of his colleagues.
Dan Eldon's mother has been waiting years to find the right person to portray her son, and has found that person in Dan! She describes him as a 'Global soul' and a 'Poet' Just like her son. The summary of this film will be updated when more of a solid structure is available.
