I have several interests. First and foremost, I have a huge interest in the paranormal, especially after my own paranormal experience in 1990. I love to read, play and listen to music. I play the saxophone, zylophone, piccolo, chimes, and am currently learning the guitar. I love to build things and remodel. I am currently gutting and remodeling my home and I do 99% of the work myself. I let my husband supervise, but that is about it. For Christmas, birthdays, and mother's day, I usually get power tools.

I love a wide variety of music. I love the 50's and 60's music. I also love alternative, rock, heavy metal, some rap, classical, country, soft rock, and pop. My all time favorite band is Duran Duran. Some of the other bands I like are Green Day, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nickelback, Van Halen, Aerosmith, Motley Crue, Poison, Toby Keith, Kenny Chesney, Garth Brooks, Jason Meadows (a hometown boy), Carrie Underwood,One Republic, Justin Timberlake, the Police, Elton John, 50 Cent, Usher, Eminem, the Beatles, Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, Buddy Holly, the Big Bopper, Motzart, and Beethoven.

Favorite movies...Horror, action, and comedy. My favorite movies of all time are Pretty In Pink, Breakfast Club, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, and Halloween. I am not a real big fan of romance movies. I will watch them, but I would rather watch movies that scare you or make you laugh or blow things up.

I LOVE to read!!! I am a huge Dean Koontz fan. I also enjoy reading John Saul, Nora Roberts, Mary Higgins Clark, Jack Higgins, and F. Scott Fitzgerald. I have also started reading books by Jason Brannon. He is a fantastic author and is definitely on par with Dean Koontz.
Heroes
My heros are definitely law enforcement officers. They do so much for their communities and country and do so for little pay and usually very little respect, especially since they put their lives on the line every time they go on duty. My cousin was killed in the line of duty in December 1998 and I try to support law enforcement in every way possible. People don't realize that these are regular men and women who have families and do the same things every other citizen does. They are more than a gun and a badge, they are husbands, wives, mothers, fathers, and friends.

My name is Dana Davis Overton and I am 38 years old. I have been married for 15 years and I have a 14 year-old son, Dylan. My husband, Mike, is a funeral director and runs one of the funeral homes in Durant, Oklahoma. I help out from time to time at the funeral home as well. I do hair, make-up, dress, and casket the deceased. I also work funerals when I am needed. I love working in the funeral industry. It is a satisfying and rewarding experience. As much as I enjoy working at the funeral home, that is not what I am majoring in in college. I am currently attending Southeastern Oklahoma State University with a double major in Accounting and Business Administration and a minor in Political Science. One day I would love to enter into the political arena in some way. When I am not going to school or working at the funeral home, I love to listen to music. I love all types of music from classical to hip-hop, but my favorites are classic rock and new wave (punk). My love for music has always been a huge part of my life. I play the saxophone (alto, tenor, and baritone), piccolo, xylophone, bells, chimes, and am currently learning the guitar. Other things I like to do includes reading, swimming, horseback riding, jet skiing, boating,camping and remodeling. I love to refurbish furniture as well as houses. Being raised around the contracting business, I picked up a few things so I can basically do just about anything. I am involved in my community. I have worked on numerous local political committees. I have volunteered for our city's beautification council and I was on the Durant Youth Football Board for 3 years, which I loved and still miss. I am also a huge supporter of Law Enforcement Officers. In June 1998, my husband was permanently injured in the line of duty when a man, out on parole after serving 18 years in prison, decided to run a driver's license check point, running my husband over. Six months later, my cousin was killed in the line of duty (Christmas 1998). So, between family, school, work, and volunteering, I don't have a whole lot of free time.
