Dana Boulé is a classically trained pianist, singer-songwriter and accordionist from Brooklyn, New York whose roots lie in experimental theatre and punk rock. She began her performing career infuriating piano teachers at age three. After graduating from UCLA with a major in theatre, she turned to the world of experimental theatre, traveling and performing extensively around the world with Kadmus Theatre Company as a lead actor and musical director.

Looking to expand her musical career, she moved to New York where she embraced the local punk scene as front-woman for the bands Stupid and The Sobs with whom she embarked on a successful career touring and scoring music for various television, film and theatre projects (i.e. MTV Networks productions, Oscar nominated film Jimmy Neutron and indie films such as award winning Devils Are Dreaming). After the split of Stupid and The Sobs, she perfected the art of getting thrown out of clubs and repeatedly breaking her keyboard with cult favorite performance art/punk band Dirty Magazine.

Having broken enough hearts and musical equipment, she went back to her roots in classical music and storytelling to embark on her first solo record, Going, Gone. Co-produced by Jeff Byrd, they spent a year and a half in production between New York and London, perfecting string and horn sections to complete her biggest musical endeavor to date.

In the middle of recording the lush and heavy sounds of Going, Gone, Dana got bored and on a lark wrote the electropop song French Boy in 20 minutes. She decided to fulfill her secret unrealized dream of becoming a huge dance pop smash worldwide sensation by releasing it as a single. A 60s inspired dance video was produced to accompany the hit track.

Dana recently relocated to Paris, France where she continues to score feature films, rock French audiences and drink a lot of wine.

Dana est originaire de Brooklyn, New York. Cette auteur-interprète, formée au piano classique, accordéoniste à ses heures, puise ses racines dans le théâtre expérimental et le punk rock. Elle embrasse sa carrière de performer avec fracas à l’âge de 3 ans en rendant hystériques ses professeurs de piano. Son diplôme de l’UCLA en poche avec un major en théâtre, elle se lance dans le théâtre expérimental et voyage aux quatre coins du monde comme actrice et directrice musicale au sein de la compagnie de Théâtre Kadmus.

Son retour à New York marque le début de sa carrière musicale sur la scène punk locale avec les groupes Stupid et The Sobs, avec qui elle enchaîne les tournées et les enregistrements pour différents projets de TV, Cinéma ou Théâtre (productions pour le réseau MTV, B.O du film Jimmy Neutron nominé au Oscar et des productions indies tel que le film Devils Are Dreaming, récompensé au festival Dances with Films). Après la séparation de Stupid et de The Sobs, elle perfectionne son art de se faire jeter des clubs et devient maîtresse dans la destruction de claviers et autres accordéons dans le cadre des cultissimes performances du groupe art/punk Dirty Magazine.

Lasse de briser les coeurs et les instruments, elle décide de revenir à ses racines “classique” et à ses talents de conteuse, avec son premier album solo Going, Gone. Co-produit avec Jeff Byrd, c’est le fruit d’un an et demi de travail passé entre New York et Londres, a perfectionner des arrangements pour cordes et cuivres et en faire son projet musical le plus abouti.

Dana vient de s’installer à Paris, en France, pour marquer les esprits, influencer une nation tout entière, boire beaucoup de vin et sortir son très attendu album Going, Gone.
