Dana Carmel is a singer songwriter from Philadelphia who began writing music while attending New York University, where she received a degree in music.
Inspired by watching the dramatic interactions of all the characters in the Big Apple who were thrown together in the grinder called Life (apple juice!), she began to compose songs that captured that emotional mayhem.
She soon started performing her songs to ever-growing audiences: family and friends, first, and at open mikes - including several feature slots at the legendary CBGBs.
Several years later, Dana changed coasts to live in San Francisco, where she continues to perform to admiring audiences at venues that have included the Poleng Lounge, The Red Vic, Annie’s Social club, the Make Out Room and a feature at The Hotel Utah.
She recently released her first EP, "The Difference" – which showcases a style that has been compared to Carole King, Regina Spektor and Fiona Apple.
Listeners have described the ambience at her concert – where she not only sings but alternates between the guitar and the piano - as “sweet,” “honest,” and “charmingly playful.”
She sings of personal topics, such as relations, love and separation, with a mix of sincerity and irony that strikes a chord with listeners.
You’re invited to join this ascending artist on her journey as she returns to entertain audiences in the city she thinks of as home, NYC.
