When it comes to defining Axis Unknown & Kronik Hedake, people immediately think of Dan Acosta. There's never any BS with Dan, and there's never any shirking of duties. Example? Dan plays a solo acoustic gigs for his hometown crowd, as well as full productions with his Melodic Rock/Metal band AXIS UNKNOWN. He's also embarked on a national charity tours, traveling across the U.S. to help numerous charities, most notably the "Rock 4 Xmas" Foundation (www.rock4xmas.com), and the Nassau/Suffolk Coalition for the Homeless. It is precisely this sort of fierce, unbending dedication, devotion, and spirit (not to mention his continuing charitable work) which has made Dan such an inspirational focal point through the years for all of his fans, and fellow musicians alike.

Singing since the age of six, Dan has developed a vocal style in vein of Jon Bon Jovi, Aaron Lewis (Staind), and Zakk Wylde - with strong dynamics and clarity. Some of his main influences are Jon Bon Jovi, Zakk Wylde, Metallica, Black Sabbath/Ozzy Osbourne, Staind, Nickleback, and 3 Doors Down. But he doesn't just limit himself to any one genre - over the years he has learned to appreciate the craftsmanship in all styles of music. From Blues & American Standards, to Country, Hip Hop & Hardcore Metal (and everything in between), Dan has been able to find inspiration and influence in order to create his own unique sound and style.

As an artist, Dan tries to keep his music pure and simple, while tugging on the human heart to make it unforgettable to its listeners. He writes from his own life experiences, and tries to relate to his fans through each song - sharing his true feelings and perspectives with them. Across the board, you can feel the emotion and sincerity showcased by Dan Acosta's strong songwriting abilities, and his passionate vocal delivery. This in turn, has made his music an extremely marketable commodity. Dan has definitely put in his time when it comes to achieving his goals, but his work is far from complete. Not a single day goes by without Dan Acosta constantly pushing forward to make his dreams a reality.

As one can see, Dan Acosta has held his own ground among the greats of Rock 'n Roll. Even if he never gets a recording contract, he’s already lived out a huge part of his dream, and will always continue to do so as long as he can. Financially, the business has been a struggle for him; he has made many unthinkable sacrifices, but his hopes are still alive. Dan is dedicated, hard working, and driven to be the best he can. Every performance has been another step closer to reaching his professional goals, as a musician, and another platform for him to gain, what most feel is, well deserved recognition. Dan doesn’t try to come off as cocky or arrogant; he’s still paying his dues in this business (aside from performing, Dan also runs a weekly open mic night).
