Although I have been a songwriter since I was a kid, I had put my songs on the "shelf" for many years. But last year’s American Idol Songwriting Contest inspired me to take the songs off the shelf, dust them off a bit and submit them for consideration. Unfortunately, I didn’t make the Idol Top 20 last year, but I’m giving it another shot this year.
