| About Dan + Jean |
|
Ram Subramanian knows, like, four and a half languages and is dynamite in the sack. Aaron Tarnow once knocked down seventy-two burly men and a fully grown Bengal tiger with a single scowl. Together, they formed Dan + Jean, a band so fierce that both the Federal Bureau of Investigations and the Justice League of America have them on speed dial. If not for their damnably catchy melodies and deuced pretty harmonies, their powerful upbeat drive and their laid-back sentimental brake, their straight-ahead pop charisma and their unnecessarily erudite appeal -- if not, in short, for their rock and, lest we forget, for their roll, Dan + Jean would be just like all the other bands, only slightly worse. As it stands, there is nothing we can say of them to match what one of our friends said once: Dan + Jean aren't bad -- you might like them.
