"WE LIVE IN THE CIRCUS"
Dan Anibal is one of those extraordinary people who knew from an early age that music is his passion. Born in Montevideo, Uruguay, Dan migrated to the United States in 1991. He studied keyboard, classical piano and music theory and earned his BA in Music Studies at William Paterson University. He wrote his first love song in Spanish when he was 14, and his first song in English at 17—after mastering the language. Dan was always involved in music. Teaching piano, performing at church masses as the organist as well as forming a rock band. Dan’s passion for music was inspired by his father who was also a songwriter and performer. He grew up listening to his father sing and write songs on the guitar. They would actually sing some of his Dad’s songs as a teenager with his father on the guitar and Dan on the piano.
Today, Dan’s writing is inspired by personal experiences, past relationships, and of course—love. He is also extremely influenced by world events across the globe and uses music as a way to educate and bring people together. Dan’s gift for creating pictures with his words is every songwriters dream. Dan is a gifted songwriter and musician with a powerful voice that gives you chills.
From the late nineties through to 2002, Dan and his band ‘Anibal’ performed covers as well as original songs in New Jersey. The band went into the studio several times and recorded 2 EPs. In 2002 the song “Let it go” was recorded and made it to Jersey's rock station. This song was a favorite for the fans in Jersey and it began to increase the band’s visibility. Unfortunately, Dan and the band didn’t have the same goals so in the summer of that same year, ‘Anibal’ was dissolved.
In 2003, Dan’s career took a blow when an injury prevented him from playing piano, and so he began to focus on songwriting. For several years, he struggled with his injury and the frustration as a musician not being able to perform. Therefore he made the decision to focus more on his voice and less on his playing. It wasn’t until 2005, after relocating to Miami, that he started performing again. Dan was on his way to making a come back by going into the studio again and recording a Spanish EP. However after meeting with many people in the Latin music industry in Miami, the majority told Dan to either go to Los Angeles to promote Latin rock or to NYC to promote his English music. He made the decision to come to New York.
In 2006, Dan went into the studio once more but this time to record his first LP, "The Circus." With nine original songs "The Circus" has been Dan's greatest accomplishment in his career so far. The CD is based on songs written in the past years of Dan's life as a collection of emotions, experiences, and the many views and aspects of society. The musical collection comes form Dan’s heart. It is his way to give something back to the world of music, a world that has given him so much in life.
Dan Anibal’s creative genius and passion for music and for changing the world is contagious. Many believe he is the next big rock star. “The Circus” is more than a CD—it is a musical movement that is moving people who are looking for meaning in the world.

Where have you been? Miss ya in the Pro Shop. By the way, I see that Glenn Gould is now above me in your top friends. Are you saying that he might be a better pianist than I?...LOL...
Good choice. He's a Canadian born musician, so that is never a bad choice.
