I am a band member of a 3 piece girl band called "Too Many Shoes" I play lead guitar & sing. I also play acoustic guitar & sing solo. I have been playing guitar for 20 years. I have played in different bands from living in Valdosta, Atlanta & Jacksonville. Too Many Shoes is based out of Jacksonville and has had a lot of ups & downs. Having lost two fantastic band members was very rough on us. Tracy Howard was an excellent singer, guitarist & song writer & Kelly Jordon was an awesome bassist. They both died from cancer around the same time. We recorded an album together back in 2006 with all the original members Tracy Howard, Dana Salmela, Mary Kirk & Kebra Warnick. All songs were written by Tracy Howard. This is a revival album dedicated to Tracy's life. Tracy had been battling with terminal cancer (melanoma) for the past two years. Around spring of 2006 she wished the whole band "Too Many Shoes" to record an album with some new originals she wrote. It was a race for time, but Tracy managed to have the strength to lay down the tracks in time for this album. My friend Tracy of 13 years passed away on Oct 18, 2006. I will miss her dearly. I know she is in heaven now still singing & playing her guitar in a better place. Tracy definitely left her mark with her beautiful soulful voice and touched a lot of souls. She has left her recorded music for all of us to enjoy. Kelly Jordan, our bass player from March of 2003 through December 2006, died Feb 12, 2007. She had been battling breast cancer since February 2004, but played with the band through all of her chemo and radiation. December 2006 Kelly decided to leave the band to devote more energy to fighting her cancer. We all hoped that she would beat it, but she lost her battle and TMS lost another family member. She was an awesome bass player and a wonderful person. We all miss them both deeply and we can only wait till we pass to the other side to see them both again. It's all so crazy having lost two members of our band due to cancer, but, the band is still together as a 3 piece with members Dana Salmela (lead vocals/lead guitar), Kebra Warnick (percussion/vocals) and Mary Kirk (bass).
