I think half the problem with the world we live in is that we put off improving our own lives or doing what is good, just, and right for ourselves and one another because we're sitting around on our butts waiting for a hero to come by and fix it all for us. There are people I admire, but I have no heroes...

About me:

I'm a Southern/Cajun transplant to Columbus, Ohio. I spent my childhood as a Navy brat which has given me an edge in adjusting to other places and people. So I don't have the accent, but I sure have the extended family to show for it. In fact I bet there are at least a few on MySpace. Hi! *waves*

I'm weird. Have always been weird, will always be weird, alleluia, amen. I also tend to shoot my mouth off about things I feel strongly about. Don't take it too personally or we'll be here all day. Just nod along and go, "OK, Dana... whatever, Dana..." and it will pass. LOL... I learned a long time ago that if someone understands what I'm saying and agrees with it, then great, but if they don't, that's who they are and where they are and I don't need to take it personally. Life goes a lot easier that way.

I have an estranged son who lives with his paternal grandparents and dad, long story there, probably only interesting to him and me at this point. I did the best I could with a bad situation and got screwed for it. I have a younger daughter, born almost nine years after my son, and she's pretty much my world right now.

I like to read, write, knit, make other stuff, learn arcane things about nutrition and cooking, and generally make an ass of myself, though I usually regret it later. The ass-making, that is (as if I needed any more ass), not the other stuff. ;)

Who I'd like to meet:

If I used to know you and we parted on good terms, by all means please say Hi. If we didn't part on good terms then I guess it's the chance you take if you do. Up to you.

I do not accept friend invites from bands or total strangers at this point. If you send an invite it will always be ignored, so you might as well save the energy. If I change my mind later, my profile will reflect that change. Thanks for understanding.
