daniel's Blurbs |
About me:
I grew up in Western Massachusetts. Music and dirt biking was my life for a long time. I left in 1972 to attend Beloit College in Wisconsin for a couple of years. In 1974 I was talked into going to Guam where I joined my first band; a 7-9 peice horn band called Bamboo. We played clubs around the island for a few months then I returned to the states and moved to Boulder Colorado. In '75 I went to Houston to escape the snow and formed a band called Apathy with some friends. We escaped Houston in July of '75 moving back to Boulder where Disco had just hit so no clubs were hiring bands. We ended up on the streets for the summer (Boulder not being such a bad place to do that in the '70's) We gave plasma twice a week in Denver to buy groceries and to pay for the storage shed where we rehearsed. We finally got the band going and worked gigs on the hill in Boulder as well as a few gigs in Colorado springs and a week in Telluride. In '76 we broke up and I moved back to Mass. where I bought a house in Mattapoisett. For the next decade I played the New England circuit and ran the Gonzo Reconstruction Company to pay the bills. In 1986 I sold the house and moved to Florida living for a couple of years out on Pine Island first at the Pineland Marina then in Bokeelia and frinally moving to Cape coral in 1990 to be closer to my job. I kept playing music but concentrated on writing folk songs. In 2004 I finally met my Soulmate Juju and in 2005 I moved to Gulfport where I bought a house and we got married. I Now I'm 53 and various body parts have been replaced and a few more are headed that way but I'm still rockin'. I'm currently working on my first folk CD and continue to play electric blues and electronic trance/ambient music. In 2005 I released my first CD with Bruce Gosey called GROOVE MOON "Captured Moments" which is a collecting of sonic exploriations. It is available at www.cdbaby.com

Who I'd like to meet:
Well normally I'd say the usual--John Lennon, Jerry Garcia, Jimi Hendrix etc. etc. but seeing how they're all dead I guess I'll wait awhile before I meet them. A friend of mine once said,"let all your heroes be dead ones 'cause then they'll never let you down"
Most of the people I'd like to meet are musicians and now I'm getting to meet them here and there.
