only as far as I seek can I go

hello Dana.... best Su
at the edge
the sea breaks faster
across the sunset..
the child-coloured sun
sitting in faded light..
captured by the moment
the outside birdsong
stirs the air inside
holding ourselves
to ourselves.. waiting
for something we
will become
we smile for no reason
but for ourselves
best
Su
.. a brief hello.. arriving late at the calm wide lake.. a beautiful sunset... reflecting the moon between two black mountains. This morning a mist is rising on the water....

the arrow and the song
I shot an arrow into the air..
It fell to earth.. I knew not where
for.. so swiftly it flew.. the sight
could not follow it in its flight
I breathed a song into the air
it fell to earth.. I knew not where..
for who has sight so keen and strong
that it can follow the flight of song?
long.. long afterward, in an oak
I found the arrow.. still unbroke
and the song.. from beginning to end
I found again in the heart of a friend
longfellow
Visiting parents in the Lakes for the weekend..
for it is mother's day on Sunday.......
I remember my mother's love and prayers..
they have always followed me...
they have clung to me all my life
.. still listening dear friend
Su
