MySpace a place for friends

The DAP (Dance Arena Productions) label has been originated by me in Haarlem The Netherlands in 1992. As kind of a logic result the label came alive after the positive vibe caused by the first Shiver Records release "Yo're signal-box". My very good friend and partner in Shiver Records, Erik "The Wizard" van den Broek was responsible for the release. This always very productive and innovative producer of electronic music delivered some very promising acid and techno tracks at the time which in my opinion needed to be released. Erik's thought was that they would not fit the Shiver Records label and therefor I came up with the idea of starting the DAP label. The new label was born and boosted those tracks now known as Whoo Whoo and Klik Klak. These were the first steps in DAP history. Following releases came from producers from Berlin (DJ Zky and Daniel P, their debut release), London (DMX Krew, his debut release) and Utrecht (DJ DNA aka DJ Donotask member of Urban Dance Squad). Not to forget about the other acid(house) releases from "the south of The Netherlands" (Roswell, Essit Muzique) all by Erik van den Broek. Over the years many of the released titles have been embraced by DJ's around the world. Highlights of the label are the first Essit Muzique (DAP 5) release and Klik Klak (DAP 2). Essit Muzique 3 has been the latest sign of life of the label and it has been defunct for 10 years.
