“There is no pretense, there seems to be no thought given to what they’re doing and to that end they’re brilliant, absolutely brilliant.” -- Craig Norris, CBC Radio
Dancehall Free For All busted out of Guelph, Ontario with a funk-infused energy that belies their humble roots. This six-piece has even more influences than band members, seamlessly melding musical styles like ska, rock, pop dance and soul into one infectious mix that practically screams at you to get on the floor.
As clear as their chemistry is on their studio work -- like their 2008 release “9-5 Lives” -- Dancehall Free For All must be experienced as a live show, where their flawless rhythm section and hopelessly catchy riffs will keep you dancing through their entire set. Playing gigs all over Ontario, these six guys prove that you don’t have to rely on synthesizers or dated throwbacks in order to get a crowd moving.
Dancehall Free For All is Michael Boyd, Zack Leighton, Sebastian Bevlander, Xandre Valli, Sean Hayes and Scott Fitzpatrick
