If Not Now, When?

Don't know who Plimsouls is yet? You soon will. Super-producer coming straight out of Bristol the shape shifting twenty year-old is barely out of this teens, but is already catching the ear of those in the know.

2008 saw him set the blogosphere alight with remixes for everyone from Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly to Alphabeat, via Mystery Jets, Fields and Chris Brown, and he’s tipped to be one of the breakout stars of the year. Discobelle, Fader and Pure Groove have already been hyping the eclectic boardsman, hailing his unique sound as something that truly sets him apart.

Listen to his intricately electronic remix of Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly... done? Now feast your ears on his monstrous, dancefloor-slaying remix of the Mystery Jets instant classic, 'Two Doors Down'. It's hard to see how two tracks that are so different could come from the same producer - but it is entirely this versatility that sets Plimsouls apart.

And it’s this versatility that has made his debut EP, coming this spring on Pieces Of Eight, so highly anticipated. Always bass driven and atmospheric it takes you from the bleep-laden electronica of ‘Twelve’, drives you through ‘Hodzo’ (tribal drums and all) into the more twisted domain of ‘Tolle’, where keys are king, before dropping you off at ‘One Step’ - a strangely familiar yet completely original closer.

Barely into his twenties and already Plimsouls has a resume littered with household names. After listening to ‘If Not Now, When?’ you might just remember who he is too….
