Dancing Turtle Records promotes and produces music from emerging artists around the world. Our commitment to unearthing new styles and sub-genres of music, as well as broadening the audience of more familiar sounds, has created a vibrant base for musicians to showcase their music. Acts on our roster come from as far afield as Zambia, West Papua, and Brazil, as well as the freshest new talent in Europe.
Dancing Turtle acts as a not-for-profit organisation, with any label profits given to charitable causes. We are also concerned with the social benefits that music can bring, regularly organising consciousness raising music events for a variety of pressure groups and charities, channeling the power of music to help stimulate positive social change. This is also reflected in some of our releases too, like the recent Merdeka compilation, with acts from over 17 countries coming together to raise funds and awareness for the oppressed people of West Papua.
Keep your eyes and ears peeled for the recently released debut album from hotly tipped indie-folktronica act Amycanbe. We guarantee you haven't heard music quite as sweet and seductive as theirs before! Check the awesome Daisuke Tanabe remix of their track 'Your Own Thing' too. Also just out on the label is the second single from leftfield-electronica act Head and Neck Sessions, on limited edition 7" vinyl, and a single release from Hospital Bombers too!
Still to come your way in 2008 we have the debut EP release from exciting young UK producer Inkliing, album releases from Paradise Found and The Lani Singers, and remix work from DJ Trax and Yellowtail.
