  • Bio

. Daniel Cook was born in 1986, in a town named Radlett on the oust-skirts of London. He proves as a great example for the argument of nature rather than nurture, as despite the fact that he grew up in a family without musical inclinations, some of his earliest memories are of appreciating and understanding music. For him, this meant that from a very early age, he recognised that music would be his life's focus. With the support and encouragement of his parents, he began to play the violin when he was seven but soon switched to guitar lessons. His guitar teacher was quick to realise that Daniel had a natural ear and feel for music and that his creative musical development would grow exponentially should they approach the classes from a practical angle rather than theory-based. Daniel thrived and began playing lead-guitar in bands of many genres. He had a voracious appetite for all things musical and extended his skills towards production and sound engineering and before long, had taught himself to play bass, piano and the drums as well. He set up his own home-recording studio and still to this day, produces his own music as well as playing all of the instruments in his recordings. When he was eighteen, he formed a Hip-Hop group with fellow artist "Alias" and gained wide recognition as they battled to the top of local competitions. Under this particular musical identity, Daniel sparked the interest of an EMI A&R man who was eager to line him up with a publishing contract. Unfortunately, budgets were cut and as a result, the deal fell through, but today, Daniel views the experience as a blessing-in-disguise as he no longer enjoys Hip-Hop and would not have liked to have been constrained and defined by his previous work. His earlier musical influences began to give way to new ones, stemming from Jeff Buckley, Nina Simone, Janis Joplin and many other great classics. Daniel fell in-love with Jazz, Blues, Soul and the sincerity of the stories behind the music. He had finally found a style of music that he truly identified with and that expressed his character with authenticity. So as a natural progression, he added voice to his musical repertoire. He spent hours practicing in his back shed and without any formal vocal training, it's incredible to hear that now, many listeners believe him to be a singer foremost, and instrumentalist second. Daniel Cook, who is today a prolific songwriter, has developed a sound and style that is beautifully reckless but refined. As a man who wears his heart on his sleeve, he has no shortage of passion and life experience to draw from. His lyrics are classy, genuine and heartfelt and this is conveyed superbly through his captivating, emotionally charged performances. It is not unusual for the room to fall silent with admiration as he steps on stage and begins to sing. Daniel's voice, melodies and lyrics combined with his passionate, intuitive delivery, makes for a very charismatic performer. Daniel Cook indeed possesses something very special… Watch this space! .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ....................real..editor....best profile tools................real..editor....best profile tools..............How I made my profile:....I used Dave & Jay's amazing ..myspace editor...............

  • Digested Puddle

It's officially been over ten years now since filming wrapped up on the first volume of the stunt/prank/comedy project Digested Puddle. Although the majority of the footage is still collecting dust in a dank basement, it will all eventually see the light of day in a properly edited full-length version.

You can check out the page for a new ten minute sampler that has just been embedded onto the profile, or take a look at the small collection of clips directly on the YouTube page: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hrrbhDMJyuA - A new sampler will be available within a few weeks.

  • Glass Rifle

Glass Rifle are performing live at Party XPO tomorrow (Feb 19). 929 Broadway, Brooklyn, NY. Come down... there's gonna be a water gun ice rink, a nerf gun shooting range and first person shooter video game projections! Plus other great acts...

The band are supporting their debut single:

"Impossible to ignore." - Consequence Of Sound"

Glass Rifle are a sonic battering of dischordant power pop, with killer guitar licks offsetting fierce beats that literally pummel you into submission" - Lost At E Minor"

It's tight, incredibly crafted and stands alongside any classic American underground sound…" - 7Inches
