About me: The Editorial Board of the Democrat and Chronicle in Rochester, N.Y., is entering the third year of its campaign against gangsta rap. Hip-hop is a wonderful culture and genre of music, but it's being overshadowed by the violence and misogyny that is so rampant in mainstream music and radio.
Check out our new online report, Unplug Gangsta Rap, at www.DemocratandChronicle.com/gangstarap, is now posted. It includes links to audio clips of responsible rappers and a video of an after-school program that teaches children about positive music. Check it out. Pass it on. Take a Stand. And on Sunday, look for our three-page special editorial report in print.
