Some other Dandelion works... Unfortunatly, due to the "rules of myspace" we can not post videos of our "Undressed Project" due to nudity being the nature of many of the works. We invite you to come see the show live and IN THE FLESH yourselves. Thanks!
A Walk in the Park 2006
"A Walk in the Park" is a duet created and performed by Eric Kupers and Neil Marcus. Text by Marcus. Sound Design by Kupers. Performed at Cal State University East Bay's first public performance for the Dance for All Bodies and Abilities Program (DABA.) DABA seeks to create a university program dedicated to training people of all sizes, shapes and physical abilities in movement, dance and physical theater.
Start Adrift
Dandelion Dancetheater created Start Adrift as a further experiment in collaborate creation. This dance/theater work, that collages diverse experiences of male relationships, sexuality and identity, was choreographed, directed and performed by a collective of artists: Manuelito Biag, Eric Kupers, Manfred Schaechtle, Oscar Trujillo and Mazdak Mazarei. Created in residence at the Jon Sims Center for the Arts and performed at Venue 9 and ODC Theater in San Francisco, 2001 - 02. www.dandeliondancetheater.org

www.dandeliondancetheater.org
Through dance, collided with experimental theater, video, writing, music and image, Dandelion Dancetheater aims a kinesthetic microscope at the ever-changing intricacies of the human heart. Our emotionally-driven work is grounded in a fascination with the intersections of risk-taking and accessibility, where we invite people to feel, remember, reflect and transform.
We are crashing and moving and shaking and falling ...
We are launching DROP - a World Premiere...
We hope to see you there!!!!
Here's a little sample from a recent work in progress showing. ENJOY!

ON THE UNDRESSED PROJECT
We are fascinated by human beings' very complex relationship to the body. In the Undressed Project, Dandelion uses naked modern dance to uncover the inherent beauty, interconnection and impermanence of all bodies; as well as the blocks that get in the way of experiencing such a perspective.
***
The project grew out of three artistic residencies at San Francisco's center for Queer arts and culture, Jon Sims Center for the Arts (www.jonsimsctr.org) and culminated the residencies in a full-length dance/theater work, Night Marsh (2004). Created by Dandelion's Co-Director Eric Kupers, with a large cast of dancers diverse in size, shape, race, physical ability/disability, sexual orientation and age, Night Marsh brings audiences on an unpredictable ride into a surreal world created by bizarre and beautiful layerings of movement by naked bodies. Night Marsh ran for 20 sold-out houses at UC Davis' Mondavi Center, the Electric Lodge (LA), and JSC (SF); all together reaching over 2,500 people throughout California. Response to the work has been exhilarating. The work was reviewed and featured in articles in Contact Quarterly, SF Chronicle, SF Bay Guardian, SF Bay Times, SF Examiner, LA Times, Hokubei Mainichi, Spectator, N Magazine and more. Originally conceived of as a five-month informal exploration, the Undressed Project has generated more than enough momentum to compel us to create a long-term, vibrant artistic experiment. ***
New Undressed Project Work - 2006 Jumping off from the discoveries we have made so far, Dandelion Dancetheater will create a new naked dance/theater work in 2006, titled, Anicca, a Pali word translated as "impermanence". We will challenge body image prejudice by illuminating the impermanence of all bodies, placing beauty concerns in a larger and more pressing context. Building on the narrative structure of Night Marsh as a map, we will expand the material both inwards and outwards.
To delve more fully into body diversity, we will infuse Anicca with a community chorus. Drawn from a series of workshops in each city, approximately 30 community members will perform customized movement phrases, accompanying the core cast of 15 Dandelion performers. Because the chorus will not have to perform intricate dance, we will be free to recruit people with a wide array of body types not usually seen in modern dance performance, nor naked in any medium.
