Having studied classical guitar both at Sonoma State University with Tom Leisek and at the Staatliche Hochscule fur Musik in Trossingen, Germany with Andreas Higi, I feel that I have refined my technique to a point where I can finally give some of the great guitar composers justice on a very neglected instrument. Most of the music I play comes from the early part of the 20th century from South America and Spain. The "post-romantic" period, as it is often called, produced some of the most beautiful and melodic music for the classical guitar. Composers such as Barrios, Lauro, Villa-lobos, and Tarrega developed a repitoire of music that would elevate the guitar to the level of the more prestigious violin and piano. I also play music from the Baroque and Classical era as well. These days it is hard to find places where this music can be heard live and I am determined to change that.
