Belfast Born singer and songwriter Dan Donnelly moved to NYC and after playing solo for many years has started up a new band SONOVAGUN. Formerly the lead singer and songwriter in Irish band Watercress, who enjoyed widespread success. Dan has been writing and playing since an early age, in his teens penning songs that topped the Irish indie charts in the late ninties.
Now living in New York Dan is still an active songwriter and regular fixture on the NYC music scene playing everywhere from The Lower East Side to Greenwich Village, to the Bronx on a weekly if not daily basis. He also makes regular appearances throughout the U.K. and Europe, supporting acts such as The Levellers, Seth Lakeman and playing many internationally renowned festivals such as Glastonbury and The Great Escape. Dan released Has released 2 E.P.s "Fallen" and "The Beach" and two L.P.s "Bootleg" and "Yearning A Living" in the last few years.
Dan’s gig schedule for 2007 was intensive and varied including slots at, The Big Session Festival UK, The Prague Fringe Festival CZ, Glastonbury UK and The Great Escape Festival UK. Dan also both supported and played onstage with Oysterband for their “Meet You There” album tour in the latter half of 2007 and then again for their acoustic tour in early 2008. He is one of the only artists that has performed with both The Levellers and Oysterband, arguably the finest folk rock acts in the U.K.

AYUP DAN,bad weekend at the Bearded Theory festival,did you get to play on sunday cos we got pulled so we were gutted.. Dan just left Terri Hooley, He's running a wee mini festival (TIME TO BE PROUD) at the BlackBox this weekend. It's short notice but if you wanna be involved on the friday night would you give him a shout, The Adventurers Velma and Plastic Rose already on the bill for that night, Lots of others over the weekend.
The Craic Festival 2009 has invited FairplayCollective to play at this years Festival. All members will be playing in the round. The show is at The Mercury Lounge, March 14th at 8pm. This is the last night of the festival and Foy Vance is also on the bill.
