I graduated from Daniel J. Gross high school in Omaha, Ne. in 1987. I immediateley enrolled myself into Belmont College which is now known as Belmont University in Nashville Tennessee. After College Algebra had kicked my ass for the third time in a row, I realized that higher education probably wasn't my calling. I then enlisted in the United States Navy during Desert Storm. After I was Honorably Discharged I stayed in San Diego for a number of years where I met my beautiful wife Marcelina. Shortly thereafter we were married and had a daughter named Stephanie Briana. Realizing that I coulnd't make the rent in California we bit the bullet and moved back to my hometown of Omaha, Nebraska. My son Eric Daniel Barnes was born there in 1995. It was during this time that I really started honing my songwriting skills. In 2002 after much deliberation and after the urging of my Uncle (and legendary songwriter) Max D. Barnes we decided to give Nashville and my songwriting carrer another chance. We lived in Nashville for 6 years until my Father passed away in March of 2008. My parents had been married for 60 years, and not wanting my Mother to be alone during this difficult time in her life we moved back to Omaha, Nebraska in August 2008. Even though reality has set in and the stars are out of my eyes, I'll keep on writing my songs because thats just what I do. I hope you enjoy listening and please feel free to drop me a line.
