Hailing from a small town in Central NJ, Danger! Von James! is a sonically-abrasive, hard-rocking project created by Levon James that "likes to push things to the limit during live shows", according to Joseph Rivera from SoSerious entertainment.
Since the projects musical inception during November of 2007, Levon James has put out their debut EP, "Let's Begin", for online purchasing with over 18 different online-based companies (amazon, cdbaby, itunes, etc.). He and the live performing band he acquired were diligently playing out and booking live shows, including places such as The North Star Bar and The Fire. They were received by the public as a breath of fresh air, especially in a seemingly decaying, convoluted music scene. However, due to the current split up of the bands previous members, except for the creator himself, things have been put on a hold. Once a performing band again, DVJ will continue playing/booking shows throughout the tri-state area.
Danger! Von James! was created by front man and guitarist Levon James during the summer of 2007. During the recording sessions of the EP, Levon was approached by drummer Alan Toka, who at the time just graduated from the University Of The Arts with a bachelor’s in jazz performance, and had a passion for rock music. Within the next few months, the two actively searched for a bass player and came across Sayreville-native Matt Dake, who was more than willing to drive an hour every week to practice in order to be in the band. The band since, due to inner conflict, has seen everyone but Levon himself go.
With the band now back to its simple foundations, Levon James is wasting no time establishing a new game plan for his musical aspirations. Keep your ear to the grindstone, and look out for new projects coming in the future!
