Myself; Dan Henshall - Vocals, Guitar, Mandolin, Banjo, Dulcimer, Kazoo, String Bass. I play with: String Bone, The Ken Foster Band, Allison Brown, and sing in the Radical Choir of Kitchener/Waterloo.
Influences
Canadiana, the spring, winter, fall and too a lesser extent summer, broken hearts, death, drinking too much, drinking too little, loneliness, happiness, love, the earth, the divine, and, of course, pining after beautiful women.
Sounds Like
A drunken frog off galavanting with his mates while strumming an out of tune banjo and croaking off key mixed with a cat undergoing a particularily painful death that involves a funnel and a slice of cold vegitarian pizza.
Multi-instrumentalist and self-proclaimed songwriter Dan Henshall mixes the traditional musics of England, Scotland, Ireland, and North America with his own brand of contemporary old-timey songwriting, to create a diverse, and hopefully entertaining live show. When he isn't picking a five-string and singing songs about jilted love, he's either attending classes at Wilfrid Laurier University where he studies music education, singing with the Radical Choir of Kitchener-Waterloo, or on the road playing bass, mandolin and/or banjo with String Bone, Allison Brown, Ken Foster or any number of other people.

Hey Dan, Sorry I could'nt make it to your Toronto shows...things are kinda crazy right now with the new album and such. Hope they all went well! Cheers, Taylor
Wow, so I haven't checked our myspace in an eternity. I'm sorry I missed your message there. I'm definitely down for some jamming. What are your days like?
Yeah man, we should definitely hook up. Next week could work. Perhaps next weekend? I dunno, we'll work out the details. Have you been talking to Nabi at all? How's she doing? And this thing at the London Music Club, and chance I could get a foot in the door with that?
I'm at the University of Waterloo right now, as is my pianist Jay. My bass player is living in london at Western right now. If you're in Waterloo, we should defs jam sometime. I noticed you're playing at the London Music Club! Big gig!
