Daniela D’Ercole si accosta al jazz tre anni fa. Questo settembre è uscito il suo primo disco:
“The Peacocks” per la casa di produzione discografica YVP; realizzato con il sassofonista americano Jed
Levy e il suo quartetto italiano composto anche da Ettore Carucci al piano, Giuseppe Bassi al
contrabbasso e Marcello Nisi alla batteria. Si è distinta nell’ultima edizione del premio internazionale
“Massimo Urbani”, vincendo una borsa di studio e collocandosi al primo posto nella categoria dei cantanti.
Daniela D’Ercole comincia la sua attività musicale da bambina quando, all’età di sette anni,
canta nella trasmissione televisiva “Piccoli Fans” condotta da Sandra Milo su Rai 2.
Intraprende lo studio della musica da autodidatta, poi frequenta la scuola privata barese “Il Pentagramma” ,
studiando con Paola Arnesano e Gianna Montecalvo, infine si iscrive al Conservatorio di Bari, maturando
il gusto e l’ attitudine per il jazz.
Ha vinto concorsi regionali per giovani talenti pugliesi.
Dal 2000, Matura una importante esperienza all'interno del mondo dei musical , cantando in”Jesus Christ
Superstar” prodotto dalCentro Teatro Danza della città di Andria.
E' solista del gruppo gospel Fuoritempo.
Nel 2003 è corista nella “Italian Big Band”diretta dal M° Marco Renzi . Nell'Estate 2004 vince il premio
della critica nel concorso pugliese “Nota d’Oro”. Nel 2005 , dopo alcuni concerti nel quartetto del
bassista Giuseppe Bassi, si intensifica notevolmente la sua attività concertistica quando compone il primo
quartetto a suo nome. Nell’ottobre dello stesso anno è selezionata per il primo festival radiofonico di
musica jazz “Dubidubidù jazz festival” Collabora con : Giuseppe Bassi, Mimmo Campanale, Ettore Carucci,
Mario Rosini , Nicola Andrioli, Marcello Nisi , Mirko Signorile, Pierluigi Balducci, Paolo Romano, Davide Santorsola,
Vito Di Modugno, Guido di Leone, Giulio Martino, Nico Marzigliano, Michele Di Monte, (ecc...),
ma anche con alcuni artisti americani come Jed Levy, Gordon Lane, C.J.Everett, Misha Tsiganov, Nicki Denner,
Enrico Granafei, (ecc..).
Ha avuto l'onore di duettare con Bobby Dhuram.
La sua attività concertistica si intensifica dal 2006 , suonando in numerosissimi festivals, rassegne, teatri e
clubs italiani.
Nel 2006 Mario Rosini affermerà in un’intervista:” Splendida interprete, una delle migliori testimonial di questo
genere”.
Collabora con la Jazz Studio Orchestra diretta da Paolo Lepore, interpretando un programma dedicato a MIna,
a Ennio Morricone e a Lucio Battisti.
Con la stessa big band , divide il palco con Mike Applebaum in un programma dedicato alle musiche tratte da
colonne sonore e da musical, tutte ereditate dal mondo del jazz durante il secolo scorso.
Si specializza costantemente seguendo seminari e workshop. Studia quindi con Michele Hendrichs nell'ambito
di Spoleto Art Symposia 2005, con Sheila Jordan (2006), Anne Ducros (2007), Franco Fussi (2007) .
A New York ha la fortuna di incontrare Norman Simmons.
Canta in concerto al “Trumpets” a Montclear nel New Jersey.
Svolge attività concertistica negli Stati Uniti (New York) ed in Italia.

Daniela D’Ercole start to studies and sang jazz three yeas ago. This september, was
releasing her first cd: “The Peacocks” for YVP music with American jazz saxophonist, Jed
Levy and her italian quartet with Ettore Carucci, Giuseppe Bassi and Marcello Nisi. In last June
she won
in the category “singers” at the “Massimo Urbani Contest”, a prestigious italian jazz contest.
Daniela began to sing as a child when, at the age of seven, she sang at the RAI 2
television production of Piccoli Fans, under the direction of Sandra Milo. She began her private
studies at the “Pentagramma,” a musical preparatory program. She later studied at the Bari
Conservatory, showing special interest in jazz. In 1990, she won the regional contest in Andria
for young talent, and, twelve years later, she could be heard performing at local venues. She
participated in a musical production of “Jesus Christ Superstar” in Andria that same year, she
sang in the chorus for the “Italian Big Band” under the baton of Maestro Marco Renzi. In 2003,
she was a soloist with the gospel choir, “Fuoritempo.” That summer, she won the critics choice
prize for the “Nota d’Oro” contest. In 2003, her concert activities increased notably when she
assembled her own quartet composed of Nicola Andrioli on piano, Giuseppe Bassi on bass,
and Mimmo Campanale on drums. In October, she was chosen to sing at the first radio
“Dubidubidu Jazz Festival” produced by “Anima Jazz” under Bruno Pollacci. Subsequently,
she was accompanied by several musicians, among whom were Giuseppe Bassi, Mimmo Campanale,
Ettore Carucci, Mario Rosini, Nicola Andrioli, Marcello Nisi , Mirko Signorile, Pierluigi
Balducci, Paolo Romano, Davide Santorsola, Vito Di Modugno, Guido di leone, Giulio Martino, Nico Marzigliano,
Michele Di Monte, and Simona Premazzi. She has shared the stage with some other jazz giants,
such as when she had the pleasure of singing in duet with Bobby Durham of with Gianni Basso,
Dado Moroni and Billy Drummond.. She has also played with Jed Levy, Gordon Lane, C.J.Everett,
Misha Tsiganov, Nicki Denner, and Enrico Granafei. In an interview, Mario Rosini, a well-known
Italian pop artist, asserted that “[Daniela] is a splendid
interpreter, one of the best tesimonies of this genre.” Since 2006, she has played throughout Italy
in several festivals and clubs. She regularly collaborates with the “Jazz Studio Orchestra” directed
by Paolo Lepore in several shows: “Homage to Mina,” “Homage to Ennio Morricone”,
“Homage to Lucio Battisti,”and “Jazz Standards”. With the same orchestra, she was a guest in
a program of movie and musical tunes arranged by Mike Applebaum. Since February 2007,
she has consistently visited New York, where she attends jam sessions. She has also sung in
concert, notably at “Trumpets Jazz Club” in Montclear, New Jersey. Daniela D’Ercole has studied
on many occasions in seminars and workshops, most distinctively at the Spoleto Vocal Jazz
Workshop with Michele Hendricks in 2005, with Sheila Jordan in 2006, and Anne Ducros
and Franco Fussi in 2007.In New York City, she met Norman Simmons.

Certo che sarei onoratissimo di sentire la mia canzone cantata dalla tua splendida voce...!!! Saresti in buona compagnia come lo sono stato io quando l'ho cantata proprio a New York...(con Danny Gottlieb alla battera, Chuk Rainey al basso e Paul Griffin al Rhodes...) incidendola.
