About me:

.. I've just arrived straight from Camp Cosmic. I am also branded with the title “compulsive sicko” by friends as collecting and playing music has been a major passion for over half my life now. Every day I crave to learn about music I haven’t discovered yet whilst listening to music that has already been attained. I frequently try and go through my favourite dj’s bag to hear ones I haven’t heard about and not devoured yet. Since the age of 16 I have been gaining experience in all types of scenarios and parties, learning about vital underground classics and rarities along with taste making new artists that come to light over time. Since the start I have had a string of residencies in clubs and bars in Leicester, Nottingham, Stoke and London. Guest gigs all over the uk and a small number of gigs abroad. I have been the protégé to a dj called Kelvin Andrews. He is one of the few dj’s in the UK who has been involved in making music, spinning tunes and putting on parties since the inception of the UK dance scene in the early 80’s. The knowledge I have gained off him has completely opened my brain giving me the ability to embrace all forms of music. Gradually over time I have been able to entertain people with a very wide range of music. The thing I am most popular for is my disco and house sets or bringing an eclectic sound to a main room. I have a personal taste that lets me satisfy most people this could involve cosmic sounds, vocals, dubs, disco, funk and soul or on a flip side I would energise people with house and techno like click funk, minimal, dub disco, deep house which can deliver a more futuristic sound. Those are my two extremes I like to bring to the party. I only play records I personally like, present the tracks in two ways. Just let them breathe or mix them up. Just depends on the record really. I hate to mix things up too much when you don't really need to. Some people think I'm being lazy when I just let the record run out. Some people think you lose the flow if you don't mix anything but some records are just not meant to be messed with. Personally I think there isn't enough people out there who dig great music and just want an easy sound or a very overplayed commercial record but for me if that is what I got for going out I would feel a bit ripped off. Please get in touch if you want to make any enquiries about my DJ services. If you wanna hear something that is more peak time then just let me know and I can send you something. Venues I have played at: Luxor (Leicester), The White Room (Leicester), Junction 21 (Leicester), The Attik (Leicester), Helsinki (Leicester), The Charlotte (Leicester), Leicester University, Demon FM (Leicester), 9 Bar (Leicester), Stax (Leicester), Esko (Leicester), Turnmills (London), Fabric (London), The Cross (London), Pacha (London), Softmachine (London), Cargo (London), Smithfields (London), Vibe Bar (London), 93 Feet East (London), Earls Court (London), Olympia (London), Excel Centre (London), The Bomb (Nottingham), The Social (Hot Lobster, Time Machine, Soulsavers), The Dragon (Nottingham), Bar None (Nottingham), The Loft (Nottingham), The Maze (Nottingham), Chemistry @ Nottingham University, Market Bar (Nottingham), Edge (Nottingham), Inside Out (Sheffield), Society (Sheffield), Hupendi Muziki Wangu (Stoke), Sound (Stoke), Roots Before Branches (Manchester), Aficionado (Manchester), Last Rites (Manchester), Electric Chair Forum Party (Manchester), Snafu (Aberdeen), Deadfly (Plymouth), Music is my Poison (Plymouth), Shelbourne Hotel (Miami), A sports centre in Kosova. Gigs coming up are Best Before, Softmachine, Boogaloo and Audiophile.

Who I'd like to meet:

Gino Soccio, Bryan Ferry, Chris Rea, DJ Alfredo, Holger Czukay, Noel Fielding, Julian Barratt, Manuel Gottsching, Klaus Schulze, Jim Morrison, Fela Kuti, Giorgio Moroder, Patrick Adams, Arthur Russell, Larry Levan, Francis Grasso, Nicky Siano, Danny Krivit, Loud E, Beppe Loda, DJ Mozart, Grace Jones, Owen Wilson, Natalie Portman, Bill Murray..........this list could go on forever.

all good here, sir....next up? Um....ep on Resopal Schallware next month, 12" on Subcontinental Dub too, which should be fun...dubsteppy bootleg stuff...12" on Breakout Audio (more wonky techno styles) and a few remixes still to drop for all manner of randoms, including D:Ream (remember them from the 90s?!!!!)....another ep around october for a German label I'm not privvy to reveal the name of just yet, for fear of bollix-removal...and then...um....a weeks sleep or two before starting again. Funny old life, but no complaints. Not really much cash either, but, um, no complaints ;) Hope ye well x
