Daniel Doss Band
“One of the most exciting worship finds of the year.”
– Worship Leader magazine
The Daniel Doss Band has always been deeply grounded in the church. It is that grounding that has shaken things up a bit in the past year. About four years ago Daniel and Derek were a part of a church plant in Clarksville, TN called Grace Community Church. In four years it has grown to well over 1000 in attendance. God has been stirring in Daniel's heart to do that again with childhood friend Ben Lamb in Valparaiso, Indiana. It is a growing town about an hour southeast of Chicago. The new church is called Grace Point and Daniel will be co-pastoring alongside Ben; Daniel focusing on music worship and Ben focusing on teaching. Meanwhile Bryan, bass player, and his wife have answered the call to help plant a church in Belgium. They are beginning the training process now and are planning to launch this new work in January 2011.
Also, DDB welcomes new band members Will McKelvey, guitar, and Kenny Davis on drums. They are excellent musicians with hearts for God. They are both excited about the opportunity this summer to impact lives through relationships and music. Will McKelvey has been with Daniel for several years and actually played on their last indie record "Love Like Rain" recorded in 2005. Will's exceptional ability was recognized as a teenager by world-renown guitarist Phil Keagy who continues to be a musical mentor to Will. Kenny is from Texas ('nuff said) and currently attends Belmont University in Nashville studying music. He is multi-talented and his passion for reaching people has taken him as far as Australia. Kenny and Will have proven to be great additions to DDB on and off stage. Former band members Joe and Derek continue to be involved in the music industry and also their local church. Although their musical relationship with DDB has ended, friendships have continued. DDB is currently in the process of writing and recording a new record. The release date has not been finalized, but be looking for something late fall 2009 or winter 2010. Change is all around for DDB, but their passion for the church is unwavering.
That loyalty to calling and ministry is something that Casting Crowns’ Mark Hall recognized in Daniel Doss Band early on. “I have spent a lot of time with these guys and they are the real deal. Daniel’s writing is sincere, honest, and speaks clearly about God’s love and hope in Christ. Their music will impact anyone who hears it.”
Thanks for accepting my friend request. I sent you a message about using your song Light is Shining and adding a verse about Christmas and hoping you don't mind? peace bizzy
World Debut William C Oatman Jr The Takeover Project entitled "Breakthrough"!!!!Live promo Dvd Get Excited featuring 2008/09 Stellar Award Nominee Kaira Miller!!! CD/DVD Release June 2009!!!
Are y'all excited to come to smallish Mount Vernon for our DiscipleNow? Because I am.
Also, are you excited that my mom is a bigger fan of y'all than I am and has consequently comandeered my CD of y'all's that I got at Glorieta this past summer?
In addition, do you think it is strange that y'all's band and our little FBCMV youth group met up in Glorieta, NM, will again meet in Mount Vernon for DNOW, and then our youth will be mission tripping to Clarksville, TN this summer?!?
I am not sure that made sense, but I used impeccable grammar (except for perhaps on the y'all's, becaus those seemed weird) and capitalization. :D
Sincerely, Abby Stone Senior Member of First Baptist Church Mount Vernon Youth Group
