Bio
Daniele Cavalca was born in Montecchio Emilia (RE) on 8th October 1987. He began to play drums when he was six years old at the music school of Praticello di Gattatico. In 2001 he attended the Conservatory during the High School period in Parma. Since 2006 he frequents the class of percussion of the “Accademia Internazionale della Musica” in Milan, where he studies disciplines of classical music under the guidance of David Searcy, Jonathan Scully and Mike Quinn; in the meantime he improves his drums studies with Marco Volpe. In march 2008 he graduated with full marks at the “A. Peri” Conservatory of Reggio Emilia , studying as a private student. Since January 2010 he’s studying at the Berklee College of Music in Boston as a “Full Time” student, after he won the scholarship during the Berklee Five-week Summer Performance Program from July to August 2009. ARTISTIC EXPERIENCES • Since 2007 he plays in the DA-DA-DANG band, that is a very popular marching band of drummers of Italy. • 2008-2009: he plays as drummer in some “operetta” companies. • Several collaborations as percussionist and tympanist in many Opera’s seasons. Have to remember: • 2005-2006: “Manon Lescaut”, performed in Parma, Regio Theatre ; • 2006-2007: “Madama Butterfly”, Ilmar Lapinsch conductor; performed in Pegognaga (MN) • 2007: “Carmina Burana”, performed in Milan (Dal Verme Theatre) and in Bologna (Real Collegio di Spagna). • 2009: “West Side Story”, Wayne Marshall conductor; performed in Mestre(Venice), Rome and L’Aquila. 2008-2009: He records as a drummer and percussionist in the album “Color Of Red Island”, the latest album of Claudio Scolari. ROCK BANDS Since 1995 he plays drums and vibraphone in many rock bands and jazz ensembles with which he performs in northern Italy. From 2007 to 2009 he recorded Pop-rock albums as a Drummer with different songwriters in the area of Reggio Emilia and Modena. -
