Daniel Forbes loves funky music, loves uplifting sounds and loves to play his records for like minded people. His passion for music converts his style into a Hot Banging set of Funky & Dirty House, along with his producer skills makes Daniel a well respected and truly devoted artist. As he is always ready to pump up the heat at any club with his spinning mixes and with the Dirty but Funky sounds Daniel will keep the dance floor filled easily. Make sure you're prepared for him to conquer your world!
Daniel was born in 1983 in the southern border of Holland. When he was growing up his parents run a local discotheque. Years later the discotheque was gone, but the large record collection was still there. He took the decks and the vynil to his room and started to put the needle on the grooves. Going through all these floor fillers, he developped a taste for funky fresh music.
At the age of twelve he started playing at school parties, spinning hip hop and top40 records.
After a few years playing all kinds of music Daniel developed his mixing skills and caught the House Music virus. At the age of seventeen he became a resident DJ at “Club Memphis” in Callella (Spain).
After a few months playing as a resident for multiple times a week at Club Memphis,
Daniel came back to Holland. This has definitely led to an increase of his booking amount as well as his reputation because several club owners and event organisations heard that Daniel was a resident in Spain, so they decided to give him a chance.
So he was asked to be become a residents dj in several clubs in the south of Holland and to become a resident spot once a month @ the after club “La Luna” in The Hague. That same year Daniel also got asked to become a resident at one of Belgiums most famous clubs, “Lazzurra”!
Mixing Funky electro sounds with groovy uplifting housebeats, he made sure to give the audience pure pleasure.
In the year 2006 he was invited by many other Dutch clubs and events; such as “Luxuria”, “Pink Pop afterparty”, “Manga”, “Booch Outdoor” & the massive event “Heel Nederland Danst”. Clubs like “Backztreet”, “Night Live”, “Boccaccio”, “Powerzone”, “Bozzini” and many more, gave Daniel the opportunity to present his characterized set.
Today, Daniel's mixes are well described as being very uplifting. His Groovy, Funky and Bumpy Tech sounds are combined with pure House drums, sometimes some lovely vocals and a small banging Minimal sound. Daniel Forbes sets are also played on different radio stations around the world, such as Dutch “Radio Parkstad” radio-station on friday nights, Dutch Radio Show “De Toestand In De Dans” and Gee Moore's Show on “Push FM”.
As a producer, Daniel started years ago putting ideas into a “Yamaha RM1x” Groove machine. That was his first step in the world of producing dance music. In the year 2006 Daniel got intouch with dj Rob Boskamp. Rob told Daniel that he was interested in his sound and told him that he would like to release 2 of his productions on his brand new label called,” S.M.A.S.H.” records.
This was Daniel's first official record deal!
The record, “Love Is The Music” came out on Vinyl and Digital in February 2007, tougether with a special bonus download track, called “Bring Back The Funk”.
After this first record Daniel came intouch with more and more record labels that are interested in his sound, labels like the UK based Underground Tech House Label “Second Coming”!
Since these first releases a few years back things are still heating up and there are more and more strings being added to his bow daley. Such as starting up his own label “Phat Beat Records”, doing remixes for Artists like, Michael Gray, Max Linen, People From Mars, “Phonetic Recordings” and Michael Gray's label “Neon Wave”! Releasing his massive House Anthem “I Feel You” on one of the worlds leading labels, Phonetic Recordings Digital, and being asked by the Legendary Soul Singers “Labelle” to do a special Vocal House Remix on one of the tracks on there new 2008 album!
And things don't stop there, no Daniel's latest production “Is It Me ft Joey Sagrada” is licensed to the new Mix Compilation from Joyce Mercedes and the Massive Tech-House Piek Time Bomb “Night Train” for the the new Cd Pool “Club Compilation” cd!
Daniel Forbes make sure to notice him and be prepared to hear a lot more about him!!
