Daniel Mallari, born in the Philippines, the 13th child of 15 siblings (no viagra required!). Born in Hermosa, Bataan, spent high school, uni and some working years in Manila. My first job was as an accounting clerk for a government office in Manila, Philippines (National Food Authority- Main Office). It took me more than 5 years to realised how BORED I was doing the routines of working an 8-5 job 5 days/week(plus occasional weekend overtime). Thank god, I realized I have a different calling.....singing - my long time mistress! A "late-bloomer" in singing but as they say, "it's never too late!:. I cramped the learning process, honing the techniques, developing stage presence/command, working on my charm/charisma and discovering the passion that is not learnable in a very short time (still working to further it actually!). Processed everything in the fast lane! Along the way, learnt that people can be funny. They believe in you even before you start believing in yourself. And when you start believing in yourself, they try to make you lose faith in yourself...go figure! My professional singing career started in a very interesting way. I'm an "incidental singer" but that's another story! It started in Japan 1990 in a flashy hotel then continued to the snobbish city of Hong Kong from 1991 to early part of 1998. Three years of that was contract bound with an entertainment establishment in Hong Kong until I managed to go free-lance and enjoyed all the genres that music offers. From Standard to Pop. Techno to Opera. Rock to Broadway. (Not keen on Rap & Country...no disrespect intended!). Some of my Broadway musical experiences includes The Pyjama Game (Hong Kong), Dr Seuss & Walt Disney In Concert (Hong Kong) and the Australian Premier of Jekyll & Hyde with Rob Guest. I performed in Puccini's Turandot-International Cast while in Hong Kong.
In 1998, I moved to Australia in the beautiful Gold Coast (best beaches in the world in MY opinion!). I knew that my move to another country (Australia) meant putting the career in "First Gear" again, starting from scratch and hard work to establish my singing (and it is still an ongoing process!). I'm never after "Fame", let others have that! Just give me the pleasure and fulfillment that music has to offer, and the joy for my audience to experience! Maybe a bit "Fortune" to fuel my constant desire to see the world! Music, just like life, is full of challenges. Bring It On!!!
Since my move to Australia, I've recorded and released a couple of solo CDs (My Corner Of the Sky & Chasing Dreams) and now working on my 3rd one. I've performed my solo shows around the country and more lately been invited to perform my solo shows as Guest Entertainer to some of the finest cruises in the world...and boy, I'm having a ball!!!
I have a "newly born baby"...the D&G Entertainment representing some of the finest performers on the Gold Coast and of course the mission of introducing and promoting Popera (fusion of Pop & Opera) around Australia and the world. The way people embrace and love this genres, the joy that popera giving the audience is just purely magic! Glad I found my calling! And it is more than fulfilling! Music completes me! It gives me wings to soar!
Afterwards shifted to the world of pop beat by joining/completing the Hong Kong techno-Pop trio EXP.
Cross-over is the best way to enjoy music at it’s fullest.
The last few years, he established himself as Gold Coast’s Popera Artiste performing Popera hits as well as Opera favourites. Together with his D&G Entertainment partner Gregory Brown (Managing Representative), has introduced the growing phenomenon of Popera to the Australian audiences with events such as Popera Classics In The Park, Popera Classics Collection, Popera Grande-Classic & Chic and other Popera Series.
He has released solo CDs My Corner Of The Sky and most recently, Chasing Dreams.
NOTHING CAN STOP ME FROM NOW ON................CHASING MY DREAMS!!!
