Daniel Hayles has played the piano since he was in the womb. Well... when one considers this idea it becomes impossible. There's definitely no room for a piano in a womb - not even a little one. He actually began playing when he was 5, studying classical piano. He progressed through the grades until he eventually reached Performer's Certificate in Classical PianoForte under the Trinity College London school of music in November of 2005. In the meantime he also took up a number of other instruments - drum kit and percussion, guitar, bass, trumpet, bassoon and also sang in a number of groups. He also began composing, arranging, and conducting for various groups across many genres - but jazz became prominent in his preference. Daniel now studies Jazz Piano Performance at the New Zealand School Of Music in Wellington, New Zealand. Jazz and music continue to be his foremost passions. Dan's Final Second Year Recital at NZSM Concert Hall, Wellington, NZ. Michael Crawford - Tenor Saxophone, Lauren Ellis - Vibraphone, Rory Macartney - Bass, Nick Mabey - Drums.
