Danielle is performing tonight on American Idol with Paula Abdul. Paula is performing her new single "I'm Just Here For the Music" which was co-written by Danielle as well.
Danielle wins a BMI Award for one of the most performed songs of 2008 with Natasha Bedingfield's hit single "Pocketful Of Sunshine".
Danielle has co-written the Natasha Bedingfield single "Pocketful Of Sunshine". It's also her second 1 US single on Billboard. Check it out on Natasha's My Space Page, myspace.com/natashabedingfield!
Danielle has the title track for Kylie Minogue's new album "Boombox".
Danielle has also co-written Donna Summer's new single "Stamp Your Feet" on Donna's first record in 17 years!
Danielle Brisebois has come into her own. With the ..1 single Unwritten by Natasha Bedingfield, a song on each of the debut releases of American Idols Kelly Clarkson and Clay Aiken, cuts by Mandy Moore, Leigh Nash, Kimberley Locke, Kylie Minogue, Coco Lee - to songs in place for Cher, and upcoming artists Idina Menzel, Stefy, Lalaine and many more - Danielle is emerging as a truly versatile and much sought-after songwriter. This versatility is not foreign to her...her foundation for songwriting comes from a truly diverse backround.
Danielle made the irresistible leap from normal life to surrealism central at an early age. In classic thrown-to-the-wolves style, at six years of age, Danielle auditioned for the original cast of Annie on Broadway, wowed the director, and woke up the morning after opening night to find herself on the front page of the NewYork Post with Barbara Streisand quoted asking her, Can I adopt you? (Danielle gets reminded of her past all the time now because its her voice from Annie that Jay-Z sampled on his hit single Hard Knock Life). She went on to star in All In The Family and its spin-off 'Archie Bunker's Place'. (She was nominated for a Golden Globe award for her work in that series when she was 12) And although she found great footing and invaluable experience on TV and stage, by her late teens, her passion for music (and specifically songwriting) became her first priority.
I was really LISTENING to a John Lennon record for the first time. As a child, I was familiar with She Loves You Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, etc., But the first time I heard the song Mother from the Plastic Ono album, I had tears in my eyes but also a strength to follow my heart, let go of my agent and make music my life.
What Danielle brings to the songwriting table is tied deeply to her experience as a recording artist. She wrote a canon of powerful songs for both of the solo records she made for Epic and RCA Records. She was a member of 'The New Radicals' co-writing and producing songs with Gregg Alexander on their multi-platinum release. With no regrets and nothing but the perfect kind of energy, she has made a magnificent transition to collaborator for other artists, bringing both her songwriting as well as producing talent to their projects.
I just wanted to let you know that The Blazing Elwoods have just released 3 new songs. I hope you can take the time to give them a spin and tell me what you think. I am very interested in gaining some radio play, so if you can think of a way to help out with that, that would be awesome..!
