About me: A native New Englander, Daniel Lee White developed an early obsession with the performing arts—both in front of the camera and behind-the-scenes. Whether creating his own homemade films or critiquing most of the movies made during the 1980s with his father, Daniel quickly realized that he wanted to dedicate his life to the arts. His extensive experience centers on all aspects of the theatre, film, and television industries.
Daniel continues to develop his acting skills through performances in feature and independent films, as well as theatrical works. He has completed many creative roles in movies such as Casting Doubt, The Miskatonic Acid Test, McMulligan's Hovel, and 188 Minutes. He has also held several positions in editing, directing, and casting for films all over the Northeast. His credits for behind-the-scenes work include Out of the Black, All Shook Up, and Mothman Prophecies. At the age of twenty, he starred in Blood Wedding—an off West End theatrical performance in London. Today, he is a lead actor in the Providence-based dinner theatre troupe, Murder On Us.
As a director, Daniel has broad experience guiding theatrical as well as independent film productions. From 1997 through 2000, he created and directed Reality Check—a theatre troupe at Franklin Pierce College that presents moving skits on teen issues to local schools and community centers. Since 2005, he has also served as the Professional Coordinator and Directing Mentor of summer theatre workshops for the cast of Reality Check. Used Books, the latest film directed by Daniel, is currently under consideration for Steven Spielberg’s reality show “On the Lot.”
For two years, he also worked at Providence’s CBS/Fox Station WPRI/WNAC as Editor of the 5am-7am morning newscast.
Daniel is a 2000 graduate (Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication and a minor in Theatre Arts) of Franklin Pierce College in Rindge, New Hampshire and currently resides in Providence with his fiancé Kerri and their super rabbit named Emily. Besides his personal work in theatre and film, he is also the creator and owner of Love Thy Job—a multimedia company dedicated to promoting the arts and Ahtspot — a website community for New England artists.
