Dan! Still checking out all that Brit Jazz you bestowed upon me a good 2 years ago now! Hope you are doin' well Give Jamie a good kick in the arse for me if you ever see him!!
Ahh, that's good to hear - definitely a good plan to sort your finals band out ASAP. It pays dividends to, and cuts down the stress levels tenfold. Re depping - yes, for sure mate :-) I plan to move back to London later on in the year, or early on 09. I'm just saving a bit of money down here in Hastings presently, and am not quite ready to move back up yet. The jam sounds good. I'll admit that's one area of the whole jazz orb that i've not put myself in for much, and i know i should. It's a confidence issue i guess, but if i know you'll be there then i'll definitely come down, when i'm next up - will be in touch :-)
Hey!!! how are things? I had a great holidays...i'm comming back on 12 of sep. but a friend of mine is gonna be there for a few days to see the city and stuff. and probably my drums are gonna arrive around 20th. i'll definiately let you know when i'm gonna have my stuff back and then we must start to work on some material. i'm looking forward to start rehearsing again !!! :) see you soon and have a good holidays
No worries. Hmm, that is the $64,000 question, haha. Happily i'm pleased to say that i am gigging quite a bit at the moment in various outfits. I think the key is to just be in as much as poss, as i'm sure you know. The pop band that i'm now playing with get quite alot of cruise work, so we're hoping to be on one for a stint in October/November. Not jazz but i'm happy to be doing it none the less. I've also realised that you don't have to be as good as Rob Townsend to get any work! lol. So, all set for year 3? i think people get a bit too overly freaked by it. In hindsight, you needn't. Everyone treats finals like it's the last gig they're ever going to play!(me included, i wish i could have chilled out a bit more).
yeah im good... landed from ibiza yesterday... had 10 days in the sun and clubs!! got gigs tonight and tomoro and then teaching next couple of weeks on a summer school.. all going well..
Glad your doing well... maybe there will be another opportunity for us to play together again... im sure Ewan will keep the dream team together! lol
